The songs were not that good both production and lyrics wise. I mean the only good songs in the album were Applause, Do what u want, Gypsy, and maybe Venus if we exclude the astronomy lesson at the end of the song. Till this day I don't know why she stopped promoting the album the minute she released it and why she didn't have plan B and hire another manager immediately and save the rest of the era and why she gave up completely on this album unless she thinks it's not a good album????

I truly believe it was a part of her plan with the Paparazzi trilogy theory. It just seems to connect really well. Gaga has always been fascinated by the art of game and studied it and always mentioned it in earlier interviews and in the born this way era interview with Anderson cooper.

How did they? The media made her out to be a flop with the Katy/Gaga feud.

Her fans (not all) were the ones who promoted, bought and stood by her through all of the management mess. No need to let a few people's opinions on GGD reflect the masses.

Came after Born This Way which had alienated a lot of her straight fans, and the theme of ART is a turnoff to the GP. Its her worst album too imo. There are some good songs, but none of them are my favorites.

So many things were wrong. She hyped it up too much and made empty promises. Then there was the lack of management the album itself was to dense and a bit dated. Then there was no dwuw video and for months we were in a blackout era within an era. This, along with gaga not being in the right state of mind, being overshadowed, and bad attitudes from the media and some of the fanbase ruined the era. Regardless i still love the album

Dance/pop was already pretty much dead in the US by the time it was released. That and bad management.

I think it's kind of because of the singles. She should have released more. After Applause she should have released Venus as a single.
