Cause of ARTPOP "Flop"

  1. 1. What do you think is the main reason of ARTPOP era's downfall?

    • It was purposely intended by her team as the fulfillment of "Gaga is Over" prophecy in Paparazzi MV
      10
    • If not, the album just sounds "alien" for the GP
      7
    • There are lots of competitors who stole the spot light (Katy, Miley, Lorde, etc.)
      12
    • Inconsistent looks/outfits

    • DWUW Music Video was not released
      7
    • Gaga was overexposed and people are getting tired of her
      11
    • Fans were expecting too much from ARTPOP

I became an analytic and cryptic person since ARTPOP, and I thank Gaga for that.:spin:

If there is a main cause of her last pop era's "flop" (if compared only to BTW era), what would it be?

I think that the fans ruined it. They did nothing but try to drag ARTPOP. that whole era had so much hope. It got ruined by the fandom basically.

You can't blame the fans for bad management. They didn't make the era flop.

There's so many factors, it's not possible to whittle it down to one problem.

1. Bad single handling. Do What U Want was the best possible single but the controversy with R. Kelly, Terry and the video etc ruined it's momentum. It should have probably been the lead single as a solo version and then tag people on with remixes like Katy Perry does to play dirty :green:

2. Music was kinda dated. Whilst the songs were good, they weren't as revolutionary or forward thinking as her usual standard.

3. Management was all over the place in general.

4. Gaga wasn't in the right frame of mind.

5. Label pulled out on the era after they ruined it.

Bad management + messy breakdowns of Gaga + lack of support from Monsters + overall a bad climate to release with all those above negative stuff
