TimisaMonster 31,073 Posted May 13, 2016 Share Posted May 13, 2016 Well I feel this is a good thing and a bad thing. 1) Gaga's name being attached to the film didn't come out of thin air...I'm sure there were discussions and Gaga agreed but didn't realize it would conflict with scheduling. Therefore, she had to decline after agreeing. However, it also sounds like it wasn't 100% confirmed and the cast and crew jumped the gun without Gaga's full commitment. 2) This basically confirms Gaga is planning on doing some major album promo AT LEAST by the time October is here, so she won't be available to do anything else! One of the most random mistakes I've ever seen. The only reason I can think of as to why this happened is because Dionne once said that Gaga wasn't all that good. And someone thought to stir the pot by announcing Gaga would be in a film playing someone who stole one of Dionne's songs. All seems a bit too perfect. I think it is ultimately for the best, though. I can't imagine Gaga doing a Liverpool accent. She'd get torn to shreds by the British press if she did this and failed. The tv series starring Sheridan Smith was so well received and Cilla herself loved it, that it would have been too high a bar to do vault over. Although a source told Variety that Gaga had never even heard about the project, Warwick blamed Gaga’s team for the mishap. “It wasn’t her that issued the statement,” Warwick said. “It was her PR people. It’s like everything else. The right hand doesn’t know what the left hand is doing. It becomes a problem. When they start talking to each other, it’s going to make a difference.”She admitted that the “Born This Way” singer hadn’t signed a contract for the role, despite Gaga’s name appearing on a poster for the movie at Friday’s presentation. If you're referring to Dipnne Warwick, she is a LEGEND! With hits like "I Say A Little Prayer For You" and "That's What Friends Are For" and she is/was the cousin of Whitney Houston! Egypt.
