You said people got tired of Judas because the hook was a rehash of BTW.. I disagree.

I wasn't talking about when Gaga peaked, so I am not sure what you're on about.

Judas (and hook) was a symptom of the bigger problem. Lots of people got tired of it. In fact, the release of Judas almost coincides with the fall. It's all related.

welp. that means no "pop" music. how boring. next

:toofunny: You should already know there is going to be pop music on LG5, but not the kind of pop music she's known for doing. Expect more genres too.

Promise I'll always be there. Promise I'll be the cure.

Battle 4 Ur Life

K...When I 1st saw this interview I couldn't help to think of Just Dance's bridge:

"half psychotic sick hypnotic, got my blueprint it's symphonic. half psychotic sick hypnotic, got my blueprint electronic"

to me this defines Lady Gaga in terms of sound and I hope LG5 is the perfect balance between those. I kinda like the analog tag, but you know...after all that jazz I just hope it isn't a sorta sad, introvert record because that would be booooooooring tbh

But if RedOne, Nile Rodgers, Giorgio and DJWS are for sure in it then I don't see that happening (thank god). I'm just hoping for a 50/50 mix between ballads and bops and at least 1 or 2 major radio hits to, you know...have some damage repair in terms of charts and career.

“Fantastic, chic, freak, slay.”

tbh I'm a bit worried about this album. I hope for something futuristic but I think it is not gonna happen. It seems that she scrapped the work with RedOne too OMG. I just want Gaga to be on the top again, not here for another flop album. Is she trying too hard ? I don't know :emma:

Either she's making music that will put her back on top just with organic instruments or she doesn't care about being "on top" like the fans do...

So the only thing you are expecting from the new album is charts success and dated stale dance songs from RedOne again? Sad.

Idk where people are getting the idea she's scrapped work with anyone. Honestly, as a fan, I want her to create the massive epic pop singles again, that's what a lot of fans like the most from her and just because she's working with Ronson doesn't mean that isn't going to happen. You never know what's going to happen, we could be in for a surprise. I think she's past that point in her career where her focus has to soley be on chart success, but she doesn't exactly churn out music very quickly anymore, so there's a lot of hope and expectations being laid out there for this record by her long-time fans because it could easily be another 3-4 years or longer before LG6 happens.

Analog =/= no synthesizers. Analog synths have been used in popular music since the 50s. She could deliver an album that's entirely synthesized and as long as the synths used were analog ones, she wouldn't be lying about it being analog. And you can make danceable music without samples or DAWs... have some faith, you guys. For the majority of music history, music has been recorded with analog instruments and there's been a huge variety of sounds, not just "Adele ballad."

I've always gotten the feeling that Gaga would rather be a 70s rock star than a modern pop icon, so I'm excited to see where this record is going. It's been three years since she released original music, so I think she's been doing a lot of musical soul-searching concerning what she wants "Lady Gaga" to sound like and represent.

I also hope that if her sound matures, maybe her fanbase will mature a little too. A lot of Gaga fans seem really musically sheltered, uninterested in listening to any music beyond the 90s or outside of a small circle of pop/electronic/some rock. I'm certain Gaga can serve bops, but if she wants to do something else, she shouldn't be held back by fans who want to live in an endless loop of TF(M).
