I'm going to be in the minority with you because I don't get this mindset at all.

The Fame Monster exists. If you want that just listen to it.

Pop artists who want longevity need to explore new grounds and reinvent themselves. She can't rely on the same tricks eternally.

100% and that's what's made her flounder recently. 

Although Judas is an AMAZING song, to the GP, it sounded like a rehashed version of Bad Romance. ARTPOP was a great record as well, like TFM on steroids, but again, so heavy on the avant-garde-pop that many people got sick of it. 

People gravitate toward what they think is fresh.

Wrongswer. Judas was never played on the radio anyways, so not many people heard it. (Speaking for the USA)

Doesn't matter if it wasn't played on the radio - that's not what I'm talking about. I'm talking about the sound of the song. The hook is definitely a rehash of Bad Romance. People get tired. Same with ARTPOP, people got sick of it. When you think about making art POP, you need to think about the audience too if you are trying to be relevant which she is.

If you want to argue against the law of diminishing marginal utility, then you're not worth talking to.

Ummm, a lot of people. Exhibit A:

She peaked in 2010/early 2011. She also released 5 singles within one calendar year and was way over saturated during BTW. It's not even a question that people started to get tired of it. She was on tips of everyone's tongues for the first few years. 

I don't love her any less, but her marketing team certainly stopped doing a good job.
