I feel like that issue is long dead with the GP after the Oscars performance. I hope Gaga still doesn't feel the need to prove this in her new album. She is a white female and she is a pop star, better get used to it. She will have to prove for the rest of her career.

Pop doesn't imply electronic. Electronic music is not even POPular anymore.
Cupid 760
Im trying to find an old tweet by Gaga where she talked about Sam Smith and how authentic music would be big. Since that tweet I knew her next album would be less typical pop and more "adult pop". These words by Mark makes me SO excited!

But you're saying that LG5 will not be a Pop album because is analog. Or maybe you are saying it will be no pop, because is authentic and honest? Gilly 475
Honestly, the forum is divided into 2. You have the 1/2 of the forum who wants Gaga to make music that's more "authentic," "mature" and "acousitc/rock/funk/soul/etc." And then you have the other half who want Gaga, the POP star, to make a comeback and really explode into her 30s. We BOTH have to learn how to co exist. It's ****ing annoying that the moment a monster disagrees with the direction LG5 seems to be going in, the monsters who want a "mature" record go in and start attacking... "deal with it little bottoms, that's the music she's making, shut up! she's mature! she's over the pop ****! **** redone! we want ha back to basics!" like really? just let us be. I don't care if you think we are "NEGATIVE." Sorry that we want our favorite POP STAR to make POP music again.

I mean, at the end of the day, we don't really know until we hear the material. However, from the looks of it, it looks like the DIRECTION LG5 is going in is not really "pop." Mark Ronson literally just said "you've all heard the big pop songs and now its time for something different." This IMPLIES that the LG5 songs are NOT "pop songs"
Queen Gloria 3,464
I want there to be a balance, personally. I have a tendency to get pretty bored by acoustic/unplugged music. I honestly hated the original rock version of You & I before it was glammed up for the album. I don't want sleazy lo-fi bar songs, I want polished, thoughtful pop/rock songs, if it's going to be a more unplugged album. Analog doesn't mean that strings, brass, various styles of guitar and piano can't be used. Analog instruments can even be made to sound electronic without the use of synths. I would like to hear her do some funky sounding stuff like the live cover they did of Burning Down The House. I'm sure there will be some "bops" on LG5, whether they come in the form we're expecting or not. I could see her doing something like this. There are a few synths but it's mostly the band playing and a lot of good vocal harmony.
monketsharona 80,077
By reading some comments it's like he just announced she will do boring and flat music... Mature doesn't mean boring... Mature album doesn't mean it will be full of flat songs and only ballads... She could make both catchy and mature things, just saying. Pop is a wide and varied world for Gaga to mix a lot of genres and making something authentic
