SirLudicopro 1,351
Okay, flopping might not be the appropriate word for everyone, but if you look at all of the major pop stars right now, most of them are underperforming. NO peaked at #3 and is now at #12 with no sign of getting momentum back (except maybe when the album releases, but I doubt it'll go much higher, I guess we'll just have to wait and see). Her previous lead single, All About That Bass, took the world by storm and was a huge smash. Dangerous Woman (sadly) peaked at #10 and has been out of the top 10 ever since (Judas teas). Again, her previous lead single, Problem was a smash. New Romantics (sadly) peaked at #46 and is not even in the top 100 today (a shame, I really like that song). Company peaked at #53 and is not in the top 100 today either (I don't really like Biebz but I like this song). I guess we could say Drake and Rihanna are successful right now (even though Kiss It Better is at #76 ). As for Beyoncé, well, her era is just beginning so we'll have to wait and see (LEMONADE is amazing tho, I hope the singles do well). Instead the top 20 is filled with smaller acts like Desiigner, Lukas Graham, Mike Posner, The Chainsmokers, twenty one pilots, G-Eazy... Why do you think that is? PopThatArt 2,193
The music industry is too focused on using social media and streaming to showcase their music. Everyone is doing the same thing, there is nothing really special about the music anyone is releasing because it is all the same. People are getting tired of hearing about the same 4 or 5 names mentioned all day everyday. These days, media focuses on the same few people in music or whatever form entertainment they provide and people are tired of it. There is so much more out there than what media focuses, more than what's big on social media. There is a whole world out there with plenty of music, not just the music media tells us we should be listening to and buying. Joemayzin 4,021
i'm not going to lie but sometimes if i find a song i like, ill see if its on youtube and just rip the audio so its for free but idk if everyone else is doing this but i feel if people are thinking like me and not buying the songs or streaming it just by listening to the "free" song on their phones or iTunes then its really hurting the artist/charts! now i don't do it for every song haha if i really LOVE a song i will purchase it cause i have no problem doing so but if its an okay song, but i like it ill take the route i just stated above!
