This is getting a bit boring now.

Also, cringe at her Mary Magdalene comment. I expect her to know that's a myth invented in the Middle Ages. There is nothing in the Bible that presents her as a prostitute, and the sinful woman washing Jesus' feet is not Mary Magdalene at all.

Oh well :smh:

What saddens me more, is that she's misinformed concerning Christianity... Mary Magdalene was NOT a prostitute. It was a lie the Catholic church constructed in its latter years so as to degrade Mary M. since Jesus loved her to an extreme extent. They didn't want a woman to be viewed as a "person" of such importance. They had to defile her name and stain her purity so women were viewed as inferior and "dirty", maintaining patriarchy at its finest.

@Didymus
I just read your post.
EDUCATE HA

you guys do realize that history as such is not the absolute truth (there is no such a thing, btw). it's one possible interpretation of events that happens to be canonized and accepted by the majority. most importantly, it's not static: it changes. historical perspective changes.

Don't Catholics praise the virgin Mary though? She's a huge female figure.

But a virgin when Christ was conceived. Seems like sex is the issue.

She had to be "virgin" in order to be praised. She had to be untouched to be regarded as "holy".
Does it sound familiar to you?

Men can have as much sex as they want, but if a woman is sexually active, she is thought to be immoral and a slut.

You're defending a 100% misogynistic reading of the Gospels hundreds of years after the inception of those writings as a possibly valid interpretation? :poot:

I sure as hell won't.

It's not a big deal anyway, the sinful woman washing Jesus' feet part is still in there which validates what she's saying, but it is simply impossible that's Mary Magdalene and, ironically, she would know that if she read the Bible closely, while she's apparently relying on popular legend.

Mary Magdalene didn t need the love of Jesus, and the fact that she was a horn doesnt make jesus love more interesting. It like saying i have forgiven a sinner so i love everyone, although pointing out that something is wrong in being a horn in the first place . Bible teachings are flawedc.

How do you know she didn't need love? Where you there with her?

He was (supposedly) a person who could treat a prostitue like a normal human being and hang with her in that time. That sounds really progressive considering the age they were on. There are many people in our time that still see prostitue as less valuable individuals, actually there are many people who still have problems with women being sexually active.

I'm glad religion makes her happy. I wonder how or if it will effect her music.

But sex before marriage was punished for both sexes during those times though?

I completely get what you're saying though.
