Trump backtracks on raising taxes

Well, if someone misunderstands your earlier statement it's not wrong to clarify your original position From what I understand, he already said yesterday that he expected congressional Democrats to want to negotiate taxes on the wealthy, and he already said that he would try to shield the middle class, but not so much the rich.

As he said: "By the time it gets negotiated, it’s going to be a different plan. On my plan, they are going down. But by the time it’s negotiated, they’ll go up." (they = tax rates)

I don't see the difference between that statement and this one, where he just seems to clarify that he meant they'll go up from his original proposal, which would indeed still mean a decrease across the board.

I mean, I know he changed his stance on these things (which he himself acknowledged) but I don't think this particular move qualifies as backtracking. If you put his statements next to each other I don't see a difference.

He literally has no advantage by becoming POTUS. None.

That's ALL he's done during his campaign. Lie and spew BS to get those votes from the poorly educated he says he loves. 

I wouldn't be too sure about the ego. He's openly expressed that he loves and knows how to win. Wouldn't be surprised if this is all a game of "let's see if I can win"

But he really doesn't. At least not all the time. He's been very consistent. And if anything, has been a champion of saying things vthat would be risky for a campaign. 

But if this really makes you that mad, then I don't know how you could ever support Hillary who has done this for decades, and never changing her opinions for the benefit of the people...but for the benefit of her ballot box.

I didn't follow that well but I did see two statements next to each other that seemed very contradictory. Earlier you mentioned that was pulled out of context as well, do you mind expanding on that?

About this tax issue, I'm convinced there's a more or less deliberate misunderstanding going on looking at the articles from yesterday (and today), so I'm curious to see what happened with some of the other flip flopping examples

He has always said that he believes we should keep Planned Parenthood but remove the abortion part from it and leave it to other medical services. 

What happened was that he was simply being asked about abortion, and the question literally was, if abortion were to become illegal (a hypothetical) should women be punished if they got one?

He said yes.

Because at that point it's a question of whether people should be punished when breaking the law. But then CNN deliberately used abortion as an example, so the media went into a frenzy saying "Trump said women should be punished if they gave an abortion. He hates women. He's anti woman. Bla bla bla."

So then, following that, he HAD to clarify (his campaign couldn't just let people think he was actually for that), so when he tried to say "Look I'm for women's health and have been since the beginning", THEN the media turned it around on him AGAIN and made it about "back tracking and flip flopping"....which they then use as more "ammo" to suggest he can't make up his mind, he's unqualified, is he really a republican? 

And you know once that gets out 1,000,000 people are going to believe the soundbite. I mean....how many younger generation voters do you know are sitting around watching every candidates entire 90 minute speeches/town halls on C-Span everyday? They aren't. But they do buy into a sensationalist, completely out of context headline (like this OP has) and then they go blab "well I heard he said this" "he must be racist" to their friends. And god forbid you're called a racist. You're over then. It's just a way for the left to use different political cards like "racist", "homophobic", "sexist" to scare people into avoiding who the democrats don't want in power. And it's worked. It's why no actual questioning ever happens with the democratic Party because the republicans always feel on the defensive. 

And alot of people like Trump because he doesn't give a **** about their rules or what they try and call him. He just deflects it. So it feels like for the first time since Reagan in 1980 the republicans have an offensive player.

Especially considering the media tries to tear Trump apart every day, and he just continues to not care. He isn't apologizing. And I think that actually scares Hillary.

That made me cackle. I've seen people frantically post about this on FB and here too, and I see they all left out that part Giving me "Bernie admitted he doesn't know how to break up banks!" teas. Exact same issue of some journalists taking a piece out of a meaningful context and using it as a weapon.

It's clear this tactic is being used against every candidate rn, by journalists and supporters of whatever one. Stupid.
