You mean to say it's usually those with anxiety, chronic pain, or depression to abuse marijuana. That doesn't make it addictive, like you said it just makes it a crutch. Not taking that away from Gaga, but she's just generally known to lie or over exaggerate things. And for the last time, she still smokes weed to this day. Addiction has nothing to do with chemicals. That's why you can have a hip operation and take morphine EVERYDAY in large amounts and you don't become a heroin addict. Addiction is about bonding and anxiety and chronic pain make people feel very isolated. Honestly, do your research. All basic science tells us addiction is about our experiences, go research rat park.

Real addicts try and stay away from what they were addicted to, so why hasn't Gaga stood away from weed if she was so addicted to it? Riddle me that, please. It's clear she was abusing weed, but that only means that she had some other underlying issues that she was avoiding. Weed is addictive. It's not chemically addictive like other drugs, but it can impact long-term stability, depression, and anxiety. Anyone who smokes can become as emotionally reliant on THC as meth heads become physically reliant on meth. Actually, one of my best friends gave up cigarettes and alcohol before she could stop smoking dope THC is like caffeine. Did I just pull that out of no where? You bet your ass I did, but it makes sense *shakily drinks Pepsi* YES! Mornings without coffee feel 10x more difficult to get through, and for me it's the same thing with weed during the evening because that's when I'm used to smoking. It's also when I'm trying to decompress after a long day, and nights I don't smoke I tend to be kept awake and unable to relax. Dissecting her songs in relation to her interviews and her past is so rewarding, because you can really get an understanding of how much thought and talent is poured into what might initially sound like a generic song to some. She's so intelligent and creative Just want to say thank you for writing this post. Song analysis like this is what this fanbase used to thrive on in the pre-blackout days. In the real world, someone who abused alcohol in such a way wouldn't be able to become a casual drinker, generally speaking. Nor would it be accepted by their family or friends. She wrote 'Dope' about not needing weed as much as she needed support from her fans and boyfriend. Yet a year after the ARTPOP era (actually during the G.U.Y era) fans were reporting smelling weed on her. It just doesn't add up.

Addicts have to avoid the substance when their life situation hasn't changed. If you have healthy bonds and got rid of your triggers previous alcoholics can enjoy a drink every now and then and a former weed addict can have a smoke. You're making yourself seem really ignorant on thee issue of addiction. Please just stop saying addicts do X addicts can't do X. Just stop.
