Every time I hear Do What You Want, i got this weird feeling that scares the crap out of me

especially from the last lyrics: Do what you want with me, what you want with my body, World

plus, the "help me now" background voice always gets me chilling for some reason...like for some reason i imagine gaga crying for help in her last days

The instrumental sounds cheerful and relaxing, to hide all the pain that she's in

I don't know, maybe it's just me and my delusional thought :(

Lmao I never thought of it in a scary or creepy way, it's just an anthemic bop to me :woohoo: And also my favorite Gaga song (and favorite song overall).

It's because it's about how the media treated her in 2012, i remember she was being treat that poorly and was attacked for her weight, involved in fueds almost every week and let's not forget the level of unease we had when she started doing drugs and stuff and then broke her hip- we were sure she was gonna have a britney level meltdown and join the 27 club

It depends on how she sings it,  if it's on a piano it's a tragedy but otherwise it gives me confidence and I feel the s*** when I sing it in my head in public  :madge:

The hardest thing in this world is to live in it

I think the 'you can't have my heart/you won't use my mind' sort of takes away any negative connotations from the song. It's hardly like 'feel free to rape me'.

Like at the AMAs :ohno:

It was all badass and #confident until the end when it was her and a piano (with baby Gaga in the background) and it became this tragic story of an artist tortured by misconceptions and ignorance

I have never understood the people that say the song or the leaked video was "a rape ad" :toofunny:

The name of the song literally gives consent. "Do What U Want", like there's no "*" that leads to a footnote listing things you may want to do but can't or something :smh:

behind the shiny foil and the rosy pink, ARTPOP is a very dark record. there is a reason why she said that it is basically her pain exploding into electronic colors. :ohno:

The only thing that scares me about DWUW is the constant threat of the messiest and most controversial music video in recent history leaking tumblr_m7wwbhxwoy1r17mw1.gif

Can you eleborate this please? I'd like to know your impression of why do you think it's a dark record, putting apart songs like Dope or Swine.

This, almost every song Gaga has written has a dark undertone/underlying vibe to it.

Because you should never let anyone do what they want with your body. After all, it is the only one you have.

I think the leaked snippets were being called the "rape ad", especially since R. Kelly drugs her; if it's consented, why the need to incapacitate someone?

But since the whole video never surfaced, we'll never know the whole story/plot of the video.
