Washington (CNN) - Vermont Sen. Bernie Sanders said Friday he plans to keep fighting for the Democratic nomination all the way to the convention in Philadelphia, but did not slam the door shut on possibly joining Hillary Clinton's ticket.

Asked by CNN's Wolf Blitzer if he would accept a hypothetical offer to be Clinton's running mate, Sanders said he would talk about it with her after the convention.

"Right now, we are focused on the next five weeks of winning the Democratic nomination. If that does not happen, we are going to fight as hard as we can on the floor of the Democratic convention to make sure that we have a progressive platform that the American people will support," Sanders said on "The Situation Room." "Then, after that, certainly Secretary Clinton and I can talk and see where we go from there."

I'm not sure whether or not that'd turn everyone towards Clinton or away from her AND Bernie.

Though Bernie may be a better choice than Elizabeth for a VP candidate.

The only way I'd be okay with voting for Hillary. I mean I'll vote for her to keep Trump out, but I won't like it. This would ease my pain, a little.

Same!

Although I don't think this will happen as her voters who hate Bernie would be upset and vice versa :(

UGH, THATS WHAT ALL MY FRIENDS AND I HAVE BEEN SAYING.

Take the best parts of Hilary and Bernie, and SMASH them together.

I would literally be overcome by joy. But I definitely do NOT see this ever happening :emma:

This is true, but hopefully they'll get over it. I mean I still don't want her as president, but at least with Bernie with her I'd trust her a little more

If she picks Elizabeth Warren as her VP it would be great as well.

This is the most viable road to the White House for Hillary/Sanders tbh. If Sanders it's the VP candidate, the democrats will have the unity they need to get to the White House again.:excited2: #ClintonSanders2016

Perhaps this is why Hillary has not openly discussed potential VP candidates yet. Maybe she's in talks with Sanders. Who knows what's happening under the table.

Still I hope this means that Sanders is going to cut the negativity his campaign has been spewing towards Hillary the last few weeks.

I sincerely hope this does't happen. Its pretty ridiculous for Hillary to consider this. At least it will make Jeff Weaver eat his misogynistic words.

Here is an example of why I don't think it would happen ^
