New York City Mayor Bill de Blasio and other city officials are urging New Yorkers not to eat at Chick fil-A.

The popular chicken restaurant is planning to open up a new location in Queens, its fourth to open in New York City.

But the liberal mayor argued that the owners of Chick fil-A support groups that promote "hate" against gays.

"Chick-fil-A is anti-LGBT," he said in a statement, according to the website DNAInfo.

"This group imparts a strong anti-LGBT message by forcing their employees and volunteers to adhere to a policy that prohibits same-sex love.  It is outrageous that Chick-fil-A is quietly spreading its message of hate by funding these types of organizations."

He went on to call for a boycott by New Yorkers.

"I’m certainly not going to patronize them and I wouldn’t urge any other New Yorker to patronize them. But they do have a legal right," he said.

Chick-fil-A responded by pointing out that it has 80,000 employees of all different backgrounds and beliefs and prefers to focus on its food and service.

"The Chick-fil-A culture and service tradition in our restaurants is to treat every person with honor, dignity and respect — regardless of their beliefs, race, creed, sexual orientation or gender," a spokesperson said.

De Blasio knows he'll be sending his aides in to go get him some. Chic Fil A is delicious and the employees are some of the nicest in the fast food industry.

He can **** off.

life imitates art. Remember on modern family when the gay couple couldn't eat at their favorite restaurant because the gay community was boycotting it, thats like exactly whats happening. It brings up the question "are these waffle fries worth my dignity" a question I never thought it would have to come to

I have this theory that Chic Fil A's employees are brainwashed with software to sound polite all the time. :green:

Yes it is...  And didn't the homophobic owner say a while back that he regretted getting into the gay debate, or something like that?!?

Once I went with my grandpa who is in a wheelchair and they treated us EXTRA nice to the point where it was too much. I kid you not, they asked us SIX times if we wanted anything else and we were only there for 30 minutes.

He regretted spending millions on anti-LGBTQ+ groups because it brought him bad publicity and cause so many were boycotting the fast food chain, not because he changed his stances :lolga:

There was one literally right across the street from the college I used to go to, and sooooo many of the students were boycotting it that the Christian groups and clubs from campus were boycotting our boycott. A true reverse-boycotting experience.

sigh...

Chik Fil A is so good though

I know they are Christian (hence they are closed on Sunday) and not really LGBT friendly

but they are so nice! and the waffle fries are so freaking good

I have mixed feelings for it

Cause once you let it go you better know it's gone

I think it was like 3 years ago when this whole CFA thing started and the LGBT groups called for boycott or something and literally thousands of people went to support CFA to boycott the boycott. It actually brought them more business.
