NORTH CAROLINA: State Defies Justice Department, Will Not Comply With Order

House Speaker Tim Moore said Thursday that legislators won’t meet the U.S. Department of Justice’s Monday deadline to repeal or stop enforcing House Bill 2.

The department sent state leaders a letter Wednesday saying that the law violates the U.S. Civil Rights Act and Title IX – a finding that could jeopardize billions in federal education funding. Those laws ban discrimination in education based on sex and employment discrimination.

“We will take no action by Monday,” Moore told reporters Thursday. “That deadline will come and go. We don’t ever want to lose any money, but we’re not going to get bullied by the Obama administration to take action prior to Monday’s date. That’s not how this works.”

Senate leader Phil Berger was less clear on what might happen – or won’t happen – before Monday. “Obviously there’ll have to be some response – you’ve got the deadline – but I don’t see the legislature, as the legislature, taking any specific response,” he said Thursday morning.

dont know how i feel about taking money from kids educations in order for like .5%(if its even that) of the population can use a bathroom. the crap education poor communities are getting will get even worse because we all know they are the ones who will probably bear the brunt of the lack of funds.

 oh well lets see how this end up  dig your own grave i guess.

That's not proper logic. States can't do whatever they want and get away with it by using children's education as blackmail.

North Carolina brought this on themselves when they sent the Republicans back to Raleigh in 2010. I have no remorse for the sh!t show that's developing. Repeal the law or suffer the consequences. I suppose it doesn't matter anyway because McCroonie and his minions won't be running the show after November.

May the whole United States watch as North Carolina slowly turns into a husk of its former self as they try and fight off the gay agenda, not knowing that when they cut off one head they only summon three more fabulous ones!
