What she lacks and is trying to resolve right now is transparency, and that's only because she distrusts the press, especially when her being a woman puts her under significantly more scrutiny. Her problems are all her fault. From Benghazi to the email saga, she has no one to blame but herself. She needs to stop making excuses and claiming it's sexism that is stopping her. Sexism didn't cost her the 50 point lead she had over Bernie in the primary.

Sexism didn't cost her the 50 point lead she had over Bernie in the primary. She has never claimed that she had no part in those issues. Benghazi wasn't her fault at all, and the trial proved that with GOP members themselves admitting it was overblown to smear her, but she clearly had a part in it which she regrets. It was the first time something like that had happened to her, and it is hardly the first time it has ever happened during a Secretary of State tenure. 120 Americans have died since WW2 during similar situations. It's a risk that is often magnified by several factors. She never actually downplayed the situation by saying that she is a woman. Why bring it up? The e-mail was also carelessness on her part, but there was nothing classified about them. They were simply files that you don't want going down the wire but are available in open sources. They were only retroactively classified after she had used them. Furthermore, the issue was discovered by US personnel and not as a result of some hacking, therefore the negligence was not serious. Furthermore, there was no malevolent intent. She has never shared that information with anyone. She also never used the fact that she is a woman to defend herself. Why bring it up? I'm not sure what primary you are referring to, so I'll refrain from arguing that point. She's only had to bring up being a woman when either discussing women's issues and when defending herself from misogynist attacks. The former is obvious. It's called surrogate representation. A woman in office who has a proven history of fighting for women's rights is letting other women know that she will work for them in office. Why would you protest that? The latter is what is being discussed here, and I find it odd that you are attacking her for defending herself from this sexism. People are trying to use the fact that she's a woman against her, and she's forced to use it against them if she wants to fight back to retain context. How is it bad? Edited just now by LebaneseDude. She was asked why her presidency would not be like a 3rd term of Obama and she said "because I'm a woman". She always inserts her gender into things when it is convenient. And then if anyone questions that, like Trump did, her and her surrogates start calling him sexist. I want a female President at some point, and I've seen lots of women elected around the world, and none of them used it as a reason to elect them like she does. How is it different than Sanders saying he is different than Obama because he's a socialist? How is it not inherently better than Trump saying he is better than Obama because blacks will like him more? Her being a woman is a descriptor and has its connotations. Clearly, a woman would have different viewpoints on things by virtue of her being a woman. She's experienced the political field from a different perspective. Women are not a minority. They are not a special interests group. The fact is that they are a majority that have been historically undermined and now is a chance for them to get their time. Don't compare the world to the USA either. The US has a significant population particularly in the Midwest and South that are culturally misogynist. Edited just now by LebaneseDude. Not really. He's claiming to know how to make the country great. That it is his slogan implies that America isn't great to begin with. He thinks he can fix it. That's smugly superior. Also Hillary reminding women that Trump is a misogynist who holds no respect for them is not smugly superior. It's pointing out the obvious. --- Look I don't care that you support Trump because of his views on guns. Don't defend him when it comes to misogyny. It's ridiculous. Edited just now by LebaneseDude. I don't think his comments are misogynist. She is using the "woman card" to attract voters. She's often pointed out she'd be "the first woman president". Okay Hillary... so what? She's forgot that this is not as radical or exciting a prospect as it may have been during, say, the 1970s. People today don't care about her sex, they care about her policies. People today don't care about her sex, they care about her policies. lol I wish it was "so what". Stop downplaying the relevance of the situation. Women still face many challenges, most importantly in the case of reproductive rights and unique economic hardships. Furthermore, why are you making the implication that she's doing it to be radical or exciting? She's doing it because it's what people needs, not what makes people hard. Back to the discussion, it's not about what he said. It's about the context that he framed them in. He's downplaying the issues women face by minimizing the representation to a "card" status. Then there's the implication from context that it's the only reason women are going for her. It's one thing to tell people to support her because she supports women. It's another thing entirely to say that it's the ONLY reason they are supporting her. Edited just now by LebaneseDude.

No one said it was the only reason they support her. It may be a large factor. Still the fact she's female will not get her as many women voters as the fact Obama was black got him African-American votes, but IIRC in Obama's case he didn't play "the black card" in the same way as Hillary has played "the woman card", that just happened naturally. He has a history of making these types of comments and he has directed these types of comments to female candidates and others in this election cycle. There is a definite reason why Trump's approval rating with women is so low.
