I would watch Buffy if it was on, but I definitely wouldn't call it one of my favorites ;)

As for Supernatural I agree with you..mostly :)

I just noticed Charmed in there and thought you would have liked it as it was in the same alley but then again I never watched Charmed myself, and I only watched Buffy and Angel while in between seasons of Supernatural.

It's such a shame, Supernatural (1-5) remains my top favorite live action series of all time but the new seasons really don't evoke the same atmosphere anymore and I'm sick of all the shipbaits and fanservice the show has become. :air:

You should try Charmed then :)

I was more of a Charmed fan where my best friend was totally into Buffy and Angel haha

I was just thinking the same thing about Supernatural. I kept watching the last seasons so I don't miss anything, but the new seasons didn't really convince me. Except for season 11. I kind of liked it. Idk..Crowley and Rowena are so entertaining to watch :D

I've cringed on a lot of Buffy's "romantic" scenes with Angel and Riley, and really mostly forced myself to go through them, I was told that Charmed had even more of those and that it's Supernatural "for girls" is what I've been told. How true is this?

Also, my girlfriend saw some episodes of Buffy with me and she likes Charmed more than Buffy.

I would have liked Season 11 more if they went directly to the Darkness threat instead of going round and round about more heaven and hell conflict (for another 3 seasons) which was already overused in Seasons 4-6. Say what you will about Gamble's MOTW episodes being weak, at least her arc had cohesion and direction. Purgatory was fresh and Eve the Mother of All was a very interesting concept. They could have prolonged the three-way war or introduced another dimension like improve on Avalon and the fairies, or something.

Carver returned to heaven vs hell and rehashed several ideas, introduced subplots that did not matter in the long run and proved only to stretch the story (especially those damn tablets in season 8) or to bait people (they set up Abaddon, an interesting new villain, and started Crowley's subplot of redemption and being human again, only to trick us by killing Abaddon and reinstating Crowley as King of Hell). Which is why even though Rowena's dynamic with Crowley was very good, it wasn't as good to me because I already got tired of Crowley.

The showdown between Amara vs God, the Winchesters, demons and angels, despite the hype and the presence of several factions working together still felt flat to me.

I'm sorry, I've ranted. This is how passionate I am about Supernatural

Hm..there are a lot of those "romantic" scenes in Charmed, that's true. but I liked the characters more (and probably the acting).

But you should know that Charmed was described as a family themed show with a supernatural touch to it, meaning the show is about sisters living together and standing side by side when it matters most. The witch stuff was never the main focus. At least that's what I they said in a making of video on the dvd set of season 8 :)

Ah that's fine :) You don't have to be sorry ;)

I don't know if you've watched AHS: Coven, but I really liked that. The witchcraft and lore was almost always present. If Charmed was about the level of AHS: Coven in terms of the supernatural element, then I'll give Charmed a try.

Oh I love AHS :)

Oh every single episode is full of witchcrafty stuff and fights and demons and special effects, but it's also about love, friendship, family, the tasks that fate throws at you... a balanced mix in my opinion.

SATC, Golden Girls, The Nanny, and David Suchet's Poirot,  there are plenty more but these 3 are something I always come back to, over and over and over again.

I always happy if someone gifted me any of these series DVDs, cos I always need back up shall the current one is broken cos I played it so often.

It's a tie between Orange is the new black and American horror story.

I love you monsters. I'd be unfixably broken without you
