1M boycotting Target over gender neutral restrooms

REALITY

It's honestly just so sad and disappointing to see so many close-minded individuals.

All transgender people want to do is use the restroom. Is that honestly too much to ask for? Transgender people are not going into the restrooms with the intention of sneaking up on a young boy/girl or trying to take a peek at a man/woman, all they want to do is use the restroom. Why can't people see that?

Way to go Target for stepping up and doing the right thing, I fully support them in their decision to do this. My hope is that one day we can have a more accepting world and treat people like people.

Got my Troye Sivan album from Target for the extra trackssssthssss :gaycat:

This bathroom nonsense is like our time's version of whites vs. colored at drinking fountains.

Meanwhile a law just got passed that declares that forced oral sex isn't rape if a woman is unconscious. DISGUSTING.

The AFA is based in Northern Mississippi, and they've whipped up a frenzy here with getting people to sign their petition. However, what's funny is that there are only 6 Target locations in Mississippi, and almost all of them are in the southern part of the state. Asshats signing the petition weren't even shopping at Target in the first place.  :koons:

I think many here are missing the point about voyeurism. I don't think many rational opponents of allowing trans people to use whichever bathroom they feel comfortable with claim that the transgendered individuals themselves will prey on innocent women and children; I think they are pointing out that such a rule can be abused, i.e. a cis person claiming to be trans in order to use a bathroom different from his or her sex for nefarious purposes. I think this is a legitimate concern, and I can think of no way of discouraging this behaviour without stringent ID checks at the door or other intrusive methods...

Perhaps unisex bathrooms with very private stalls are the way to go?

I think adding 2-3 family restrooms at every store is the less problematic way to go.

Calling me an ass is not an insult :gaycat:

I'm sorry, but I don't have any ounce of respect for anyone who supports or "understands" this law.

I don't even support it , I just said they raise a valid point, that's it and displayed how I was disheartened and wished their was a solution that would make everyone happy but you took it upon you to take my compassion and integrate your ass-hurt interpretation in order to mislead people for likes

Sorry not today Satan not today  :diane:

Whispering

This law and the boycott are useless and ridiculous. Women's bathrooms have stalls with doors and locks. If someone is peeping they are having to look over, under the stall so it would be obvious to the person in the stall. Or they will have to put their face right up to the front of the stall and everyone else in the bathroom could see them doing this. Places like Target have a continuous flow of women coming into the women's bathroom.

Parents should always accompany their young children into the restroom. If a Dad is with his daughter or a Mom is with a son (who feels too old to go into the Women's bathroom), you can ask to use the employees bathroom and the majority of stores will accommodate that request. Places like malls and large shopping complexes have family bathrooms just for this purpose. Patents have been using common sense in these situations for years and years. I don't know why all of a sudden people are acting like taking kids to the restroom is a dangerous endevour.
