Well the thing is, that there are many uneducated people in the US (uneducated racist homophobic rednecks (like 99% of trump's fans)) that see nuclear weapons as cool and badass, the sole idea of living in a country with nuclear weapons makes them feel superior and like Rambo. Now...I've heard him say some stupid stuff but  nuclear weapons are a top 20 issue, but I wouldn't exactly put them even in the top 10.
