nice to see he can compete though. just using donations from people(not corporations or super pacs)  and the internet can get you noticed on the big stage and thats whats inspiring about him.

i dont see citizens united getting overturned any time soon when our president probably benefits from the ruling. not sure if trump is taking money from them but i doubt it and bern isnt as far as i know.

I disapprove of what you say, but will defend to the death your right to say it.

Our President doesn't want Citizens United to exist and Democrats don't approve of it or want to have to compete with it. Citizens United is a conservative funding group and will support Trump...probably starting now. It will take over a billion dollars for Hillary to compete with Trump.

The 2012 presidential election was the first following Citizens United, with more than twice the political spending as any previous election. Independent political spending of the kind Citizens United allows accounted for all of that increase.

If Trump gets in office, and gets two Supreme Court Justices in office over the next four years, Citizens United will be here to stay.

I'm literally not voting at this point. The New York Primary was rigged against independent voters so F the democratic party. It's more corrupt than the republican party.

Don't waste your right. That's dumb. Regardless if you think something's rigged or anything other issue, get out and vote for somebody.

Shortly after the Citizens United decision was issued, President Obama began a campaign against it, starting with a State of the Union speech during which he criticized members of the Court who were on hand for his speech.

Though President Obama’s DISCLOSE Act eventually failed to pass in Congress, the IRS agency responsible for approving the status of 501(c) groups effectively shut down approvals of new conservative groups for two years.

At the first real stop on her campaign tour of Iowa, Hillary Clinton announced support for a constitutional amendment to overturn Citizens United.

thats he problem. trump has republicans coming out in droves for him. congress will remain republican dominated imo. i dont see it going away any time soon unless there is another way

and also if trump takes money from them in the future it kinda ruins his whole campaign strategy which is self funded and no establishment bullshit. if he goes the way of the other with taking money from donors such as the military industry corporations then he pretty much becomes the same as all of the rest and i will not want him as president. havent heard of that happening yet tho.

What's the problem? Congress? I agree. That's why it is important to get a Democrat in office, one that will support down ballot candidates, and one that will appoint liberal minded Justices. Otherwise, we are screwed for years, possibly decades to come.

Trump WILL be funded by Citizens United and by conservative super PACS. He can't stop them from running ads and giving support in hundreds of other ways. Unless he has a billion and a half dollars to put up himself, he can't compete at the national level. Just watch and see.

once he himself takes the money i'm done with him too. there are so many republicans voting in this election and dems switching sides that i dont think her support will matter. republicans are going to be out in full force and in my opinion they will keep the house and senate.

a those middle states and southern states will be heavily republican. dont see it changing really but you know we'll see. historicaly you're probably right but i dont see this election as the same old same old. this year is very different.

Bernie has had the same talking points for decades and he has little to no idea how to achieve those main points of emphasis. They were  unrealistic and completely unachievable. Bernie would have been a dead on arrival President, and one that lacked foreign policy knowledge. I still would have marched down to my local polling station and cast a vote for Bernie, if he had been the nominee this November. :)

But we've got to be honest, inequality is the biggest problem of the US of the moment: Criminality, populism, rising poverty, financial crises. Other than that he has good progressive values like LGB and T rights, wants to reduce gun use and wants to fight climate change like no other candidate. If he would get as much done is a good question, but I think that it will be hard to find a person as inspiring and trustworthy as Bernie in the future, who can actually mobilize so many young people. I think the ideas will still be important, but it is questionable whether a next Bernie-like candidate would make so many people so genuinely excited, considering a first time is always more exciting.

Anyways. Support Hillary guys! No vote means you're voting for Trump. Voting for Trump is voting for right-wing, interventionist pro-Russia policy by a guy who has literally no clue as to what to do once he's become president, because he's not learnt how to do anything besides mobilizing the dumbest of the US.

Bernie? He wants to challenge income equality and move the country to a socialistic society. He isn't some champion of equal rights for minority groups and never has been. That doesn't mean he doesn't believe in equal rights, just that he hasn't made them the main emphasis of his policies. Gun use? He's a flip flopper on that issue and it's not a main concern of his. How did you get that he wants to push gun control laws like no other candidate? I don't find Bernie to be particularly trustworthy or inspiring. I find those who are more experienced and have been in the trenches fighting for women and children and minority groups to be much more inspiring. I find those who have a more realistic approach to getting things done and know that they have to work with others and compromise to be more inspiring. Those who are pie in the sky thinkers don't really impress me. They are numerous on college campuses and most of them grow more towards realism as they age. I also am impressed with those who can back up their policies with intelligent solutions, people who have spent time and effort learning all they can on the issues that are the most important to them. I want information and details! :)

Don't worry, there will be another Bernie. There has been one in several elections throughout the years. There will even be another Trump.  :wtf: Maybe the next Bernie will have more details on his policies and more experience in general and not so many unachievable and unrealistic proclamations. The next Bernie will need to be more involved with minorities and women, since a Democrat will always need those votes to get the nomination. There will be room and opportunity for a more evolved and realistic Bernie in the future. I hope there isn't opportunity for another Trump, though! Lol

There will be a Trump and a Bernie every time from now on. The thing with Bernie is that his extraordinary consistency made him so trustworthy, which really helped him. Other than that, minorities are generally more to the right than Bernie is. Women can be caught by the next Bernie, if it's a woman. Generally speaking, women are more likely to be left-wing and progressive, so I do see the 'next' Bernie being a woman.

Every candidate for presidency knows that once in the white house they can't say "we'll bomb the hell outa them!" nor "we're going to destroy the banks!". The thing is, you have to convince people with ideals, and translate those ideals into policy once you're actually in the White House. Only for the more educated, experts and media it's necessary to go more in depth. Just know that the president doesn't have that much power, as long as the American parliament has a Republican majority. However, in the hypothetical situation that there is a Democrat majority after the next elections, Sanders would probably get more done than Hillary. She's more right-winged, and I actually think that a Bernie-Republican compromise on economics is equal to Hillary's policy with a democratic majority in parliament.

Also remember that there's a large difference between socialism and socialdemocracy. You probably know that. Also, Bernie is more centrist/center-left than left-wing, while Hillary should be considered centre-right to centre and Cruz far-right.

He's definitely influenced Hillary throughout the campaign. I think they'd make a great team. He could be the heart and passion, she'd be the brains and reality check. :sis:
