Ammunition restrictions will do what exactly? You would have to restrict them to be used only in specific areas, which hunters would never go for.
Registration will help you find out who committed a mass shooting, but the people who do it don't expect to get away with it.

These incidents happen all the time in the US but the US is not the only country with lax gun control laws. The idea that simply "banning guns" would solve these problems is naive. I'm for stricter gun control laws because of idiots like this http://mashable.com/2016/03/09/kid-shoots-gun-advocate-mom/#oZZvNvfLHgqC. And more laws may very well prevent the occasional teenager who makes a bad decision when he comes across his daddies gun stash out in the open.

But gun control will not stop shootings in the US. It hasn't even stopped shootings in other countries. You could give every person in Japan a gun, and there would still not be mass shootings there. It's way more complicated than "have gun, will commit mass murder." Simplifying it does more harm than good, imo.
