The lyrics are simple, yes, but they weren't meant to be tricky. It's similar to "Born This Way" in that every one, male or female, young or old, should be able to hear it and understand it. The melody is gorgeous and dynamic, the way it starts off very low and guttural and continues to have Gaga going higher and higher until the very end. 

The vocals, I'm not sure what you want me to say. They are not pretty or smooth, but they weren't supposed to be. The raw emotion behind them is what mattered the most, and it's safe to say that Gaga nailed it. 

I couldn't care less about the acclaim it got..  The song is nothing special.Born This Way is not incredible lyrically either xD But 1)the bridge is incredible lyrically 2) the song is not so repetitive. 3)the melody is actually good

You proved that it's relatable not that it's good.I like the message that it passes with the low end and the happy ending (in terms of chords) but that doesn't make the melody any better

Actually she doesn't even have a proper ballad, Only some old fashioned country rock boring "ballads".

She has a great voice and she doesn't have at least 1 ballad whereas artists like katy perry and rihanna  have some great ones.

See, this is why I brought up the song's overall reception.

All things considered, critics, listeners, fans and the vast majority of people who have gotten their ears on the song think it is something very special and powerful. I would say the case is more on you to explain why that is not the case.

Well if it was really that special it would have more than 30 million views.  It's just boring that's the reason it didn't get attention

Captivated, Words, and Wish You Were Here are all great Stefani ballads. 

Future Live, Brown Eyes, Wonderful, Fooled Me Again, Let Love Down, Second Time Around, Princess Die, Living on the Radio, Brooklyn Nights, I Wanna Be With You, and Dope are all great as well. 

This in combination with performing Paparazzi, Poker Face, and Applause as acoustic ballads is a nice way to contrast all the dance music. I think we'll have more ballads on LG5 too.

Yeah, I'm not big on her ballads. She always brings in the band and makes it too upbeat for me. The only ballad of hers that I've found mesmerizing and most rewarding of the ballad title was Captivated.

Well, the thing is that she hasn't many ballads 

the ones she has are pretty good, like You And I/The Edge Of Glory/Speechless/Brown Eyes/Hair , and remember she could turn some of her dance songs easily into a ballad and it still would be great
