Does Lady Gaga have the worst catalog of ballads?

What? A lot of her songs you can tell she wrote as ballads before they were produced with drum tracks etc, like The Edge of Glory, You and I, & Hair. To me, a lot of her best songs sound like they could be ballads.

And not you forgetting about the flawless track Wonderful :hor:

It's matter of taste.

Most of her ballads are rock ballads so if you're prefer pop ballads over rock ballads then it's understandable why you don't like them as much as other ballads.

In my opinion songs like Speehless, Honest Eyes, Brown Eyes, Second Time Around, Princess Die and I Wanna Be With You (I don't like Dope as much as IWBWY) are her best ballads and they are all flawless and way more rich than half of the ballads of other pop singers.

If you ask me Katy Perry has the worst ballads. Most of them are plain, boring, forgettable, basic and predictable.

She really needs her Everytime/Halo/Diamonds kind of ballad honestly.

Yes indeed her best ballads are unreleased tbh. Princess Die, Let Love Down, Second Time Around, No Way, Wonderful are a few examples of her great unreleased catalogue.

Yoü&I and Speechless could have been better with a more stripped down production.

Yeah but "could be a ballad" is different than a ballad

"Speechless", "You + I", "Tll It Happens to You", and "Dope" are all spectacular ballads. Even if you don't like the latter two, I don't see how the craft behind them is even debatable.

Huh how is TIHTY a good song :awkney: What is good about it?The lyrics are INCREDIBLY repetitive and simple. The melody is uninteresting..The vocals are debatable

Can't wait for Gaga to come with LG5 with at least 5 ballads and prove you wrong.

I do think that she can write amazing ballads.. She just didn't focus on that

Her ballads all have fantastic melody work but are usually clunkers lyrically, Speechless being the big exception. On the subject of her having the worst catalog of ballads - I assume you mean out of the "pop girls" given what site this is and your username - her few ballads are still easily superior to the likes of Katy Perry's, Britney's, etc.

Dope, Speechless and Brown Eyes are MASTERPIECES, if you can relate to them.

As an outsider, those would seem weak, but with the right emotional connection, they are brilliant.

Please correct me if I make any grammar mistakes, I want to master English as much as possible.

I love how you "awkney" the song when it's been acclaimed left and right since its release. :awkney:

The lyrics are simple, yes, but they weren't meant to be tricky or complicated. It's similar to "Born This Way" in that every one, male or female, young or old, should be able to hear it and understand it. The melody is gorgeous but also dynamic, the way it starts off very low and guttural and continues to have Gaga going higher and higher until the very end.

The vocals, I'm not sure what you want me to say. They are not pretty or smooth, but they weren't supposed to be. The raw emotion behind them is what mattered the most, and it's safe to say that Gaga nailed it.
