These days it's better to debut a new single at the BBMAS

I still prefer the VMAs even though the award show has gotten worse and hasn't been enjoyable since 2010. What I like about the vmas is that gaga can get away with being over the top, silly, and weird. I've always heard about the bbmas but I barely hear people talk about it outside the internet. The Vmas or grammys are usually talked about a day after the ceremony and are everywhere on the news but they were definitely more popular many years ago.

If Gaga announced that she was performing her new single at the VMA's this year, viewer figures would rocket.

#Vmasarenothingwithoutgaga :green:

In my messy era.

I still think the VMAs is more relevant. I don't know but it excites me more, artists usually perform better there.

I mean I don't think I've ever seen any artist performed like Beyonce and Justin Timberlake (for 13 minutes) when they received their Vanguard award.

It is... VMAs has gone downhill the past few years. AMAs and BMAs are watched more these days.

Last year's VMAs line up was so tragic though lol. VMAs does have the bigger history, no doubt. But if it's gonna be like it was last year then I don't want Gaga to be near it tbh lol

I think Gaga treats the VMAs like the Grammys, she views these platforms as the best promotional media and usually gives her best at these shows. Paparazzi blood performance, meat dress, attended as her male alter ego and a performance reminiscent of her past eras, she always gives us something to talk about when she's there. Tbh, I don't know why VMAs had that few viewers last year but they did their best to make it entertaining, Kanye's speech, Taylor and Nicki drama and there were tons of performers who are actually relevant.

The BBMAs, VMAs or AMAs are good award shows where Gaga could debut her lead single.  It seems like the BBMAs are gaining steam over the VMAs, though.

I don't care what you think about unless it is about me.

It's so weird how I never hear anyone (IRL or in the media) talk about the BBMA's despite them shitting all over the VMAs in ratings. I think the only exception is a few years ago when Miguel injured that poor woman. I guess they are kind of like the Pink of the award shows: successful, but under the radar.

I feel like almost all these award shows are losing steam though (most likely due to youtube and the like). It seems like I read every year that ratings are down compared to previous years no matter what award show it is.

I agree. I think she does view it as an exciting platform, as it should be. But scripted celebrity drama is no match for the actual exciting moments and performances provided by artists like Gaga, Britney, Madonna, Beyonce and way more in previous years. The lineup was awful, I wouldn't say there was "tons" of relevant performers... They had no one who was massive at that point imo. It launched Justin's era so he wasn't a huge star at that point, Nicki was awkwardly hanging on the end of her era etc. Miley as host was pretty fun but she wasn't in the middle of anything big either. The Weeknd was the only one and his performance was a non-event. Then you're left with like... Demi Lovato, twenty one pilots and Tori Kelly... Compare it to the 2011 lineup lol. It's quite easy to see how last year's show was so lacklustre.

Applause for you. :applause:A BBMA's debut performance will ensure a summer smash. However, knowing Gaga she'll premiere it at the VMA's. :eww:
