What makes it more economical? The point of the song comes across 100% clearly, with virtually no effort on the listeners part, while at the same time still being loaded with wit, double entrendres and wordplay that allows for multiple interpretations.

What makes it more intelligent? Well, basically those the same reasons.

In your opinion. I'm sure in America where gay marriage was just legal they knew she was really talking about how she wanted to get a woman and a man was blocking her way, while Work has it's meaning in words and just dialect. There is no mention of another girl even in Poker Face. Have it your way.

Rihanna is like ruling the world!!! Work is like the biggest song of all time now

No. I love Rihanna but it hasn't even outsold Applause in the US. The music industry is really slow in terms of sales right now.

Absolutely.  Didn't we witness this with Samsung?  This is so obvious.

Streaming says hi, sadly. I doubt that people want to pay for music since they already pay for a streaming service. :(

Streaming doesn't equate to 'ruling the world' like the original comment I quoted said, Wrecking Ball was famous for its controversy not the music. A lot of people dislike Work, that doesn't count as 'ruling the world'.

Who is and who is not competition? List all of them as pertains to Rihanna #1 chart history. A lot of people who use to be in the top 10 cannot even make a top 40 hit.

shut up.

congrats queen!

If Rihanna can get a #1 with a mediocre song like that, I'm sure Gaga can pull that too.

A song being #1 for 9 ****ing weeks can't even outsell a song that peaked at #4 (applause).

Embarrassing and ridiculous to say the least.
