Is This Bernie Sanders Campaign Ad Problematic?

Close to 70 per cent of black Americans are considered to be middle class or above. Bernie turns everything into a discussion about one of his pet topics and not everything is about one of the topics he obsesses over. He has lived in and been a politician in the whitest state in the country. Bernie has always loved a good protest, but he hasn't put time and effort into actually doing something about any of these issues, or learning much about them tbh. 

Hillary was in high school at the time, living in a highly conservative household. You know this by now. By her sophomore year in college, she had made the full conversion to liberal democrat and never looked back.

I just find it ironic that you're attributing your own narrative as if it came from Sanders campaign. Bernie never said that black voters were dumb, yet you insinuate that he must, or why would be have brought up that him he was on the right side of history, when his opponent, was not.

Just because someone is considered middle class doesn't mean thats fisclly good. The middle class in today's world is not in the same place it was years ago. It's much lower, and based on inflation + GDP, the "middle-class" is lower and shrinking. What does the race of Vermont majority have to do with his stances or efforts? That's just blatant racism.

You stated that the problems black Americans face have to do mostly with economic disadvantages and that isn't true for the majority. There are many issues and problems that they are concerned about, other than economic ones.

Bernie doesn't even have the knowledge to back up his three main topics of his campaign. No wonder he defaults to the same talking points over and over. He really doesn't have anything else.

Pandering to women? Or just a great slogan? You're with HER, not him. Clearly showcasing she's a woman, the only woman, and will be the FIRST woman to be president.

It's a campaign. The ads are designed to get votes and bring people in to become interested in a candidate.

You're right, he is making comparisons, but not in the negative way like, "look how great I am, I'm like MLK!" Like OP seems to think. It's more like, "they fought this, I fought this. I'm like them in that I stand up for what's right for you." I think it would take a bit more effort to compare himself to the legacy of MLK and President Obama. Like, this ad is not as complicated as it is being made out to be hahaha Besides, every candidate has ads like this. Clinton had that awful abuela nonsense a few months back which I thought was much more offensive and pandering. And every Republican under the sun wants to be the next Reagan for some ungodly reason. Sanders isn't trying to tie himself to the legacy of these guys, just the well-known fact that they fought for Civil Rights. At least he isn't lying about it, just making voters aware who may otherwise not be.

The Republicans praise Reagan and Sanders praises Castro's healthcare and education system.  It's a win win for everyone.

Are you serious? Well, Im sure every candidate can have ads in any language, but this is totally different. No one is going to ask Martin Luther King if he agrees with him beeing on an ad for Bernie campaign. If he wants to do an ad like this, he should get the endorsment of an afro-american leader that is alive and publish all the ads he wants.

 

Btw, I was right. He totally forgot about the afro-american voters until New York. The fact that he has come with this ad scream desperation.

Do you know what ad I'm talking about? Clinton's ad was "7 things she has in common with your abuela." It isn't a matter of different language that ad was outright ignorance to the plight of hispanics and how they differ from wealthy white women like her. That isn't something that can be brushed off. I mean, this isn't great either, but I don't see it as nearly as bad.
