Polls: Kasich beats Clinton in general election

Kasich won't get the nomination. Even in a Brokered Convention he is not the favorite to win it.

I would actually support Kasich (never Cruz), but it seems like the rules committee will keep 40B in place which means you have to have at least won 8 states.

Gurrl... I know about 40B.  I'm a Public Policy major who's been politically involved since he was 13.      We won't really know until next week, though.

Again, like I've been saying the whole time... will Kasich win?  Probably not.  Would he be the best possible general election candidate for the Republican Party, and is he the least crazy out of the 3 running?  Yes.

I haven't decided yet.  I'm leaning towards voting for Hillary or not at all if that's the general election matchup.  I'm praying I won't have to make that decision.

If it comes down to Cruz v. Hillary, I'll definitely vote Hillary, though.

As a liberal I like Kasich, I just wish he would stop saying things like telling women to come from the kitchen and vote for him, or saying that this "religious freedom laws" won't change the behavior of gay people(I'm paraphrasing).

This is a thread about my bae Kasich, so I don't want to go too off-topic, but...

Hillary is imperfect, and definitely not anywhere close to who I would want as a president.  However, she is an experienced politician, and as much as many people would have us believe that running a government is the same as running a business, it is not.  Trump has neither the public service experience nor the decorum required to be the leader of the most powerful and influential nation on earth.  He just doesn't, and he's not going to develop it before the election.

That's not even what he meant; on multiple occasions he's apologized for his phrasing and clarified that when he was starting out, his campaign meetings were often held in friends' kitchens where the women were cooking dinner.  I fail to see why people are upset that his friends and his friends' spouses were cooking dinner.

Oh I'm not & at the time I thought it was just a simple gaffe , but then he said the thing about gay people and it made me wonder is this a trend with him?  A narrative?  Hmmmmmm  🤔

If the Republicans are smart they'd choose Kasich. He's not as moderate as he pretends to be but at least he's not a raving lunatic like those other clowns.

Which comment about gay people are you referring to?  Because recently, he's spoken out against the North Carolina bathroom law and Mississippi's discriminatory efforts.

During the debates & on an interview he did with CNN, he basically came out against these laws & said "you're not going to get people to change their behavior by doing it that way(paraphrasing)  And I was like wow, really tho?  This is 2016 right?!  Smh

Well, he is still a conservative who doesn't personally agree with LGBT people being LGBT.  However, he's also not going to be an asshole and stand in our way and legislate against us.  I guess coming from the perspective of being a gay man in a conservative Christian family, that's something I can live with, because I've dealt with learning how to deal with members of my family who don't like me being gay, but love me anyway.  Kasich's not a Democrat, so I'm surprised that you're surprised that he isn't 100% supportive of the LGBT community.  I don't think we'll see any Republicans like that until my generation gets into national politics.

It's just been a while since I have heard any national figures say that, or say it in those exact words I should say.  I do believe tho that responses like that could hurt him in a general, especially a political ad where that is played repetitiously doing the ad.  Smh
