ARTPOPisaChoice 946
I don't think she necessarily struggling, I just think radio gave up on her and her R&B sound (for now). Without radio support and a killer video, she's struggling to crack the Top 10. I think she's doing extremely well considering what type of song Dangerous Woman is - mid-tempo, rollicking, slow - it doesn't scream "spring/summer hit!" when you listen to it. Hands up to the sky 🌧 I’ll be your galaxy 🌌
JustAnotherDay 8,402
1. Dangerous Women is a weak lead single 2. She doesn't like to leave her upper register (it gets boring) 3. She isn't that exciting and people are getting bored of her Spoiler If she thought Dangerous Women was the best lead then the rest of the album will flop was NickARTPOP

In only two years, she released 8 singles, so people were kinda tired by that time. Still, TEOG was a worldwide hit, and it was something new and fresh from Gaga. The GP was there for that Gaga. Maybe Judas would have worked as the 3rd single, idk... That's true, it was. Edge of Glory was also one of the best songs off of BTW though and a big bonafide hit before it had even been released. That was a song anyone could have done and it would have a hit because the song is just that good. It doesn't rely on an artist's name recognition for it to be huge. She definitely should have made it single #2, but I think a bigger problem was that the BTW singles were all over the place and none of them cut to the core of what BTW was as an album. The deep cuts like HML and GH are way more indicative of the overall sound than, say, You and I or Edge of Glory. I think that because they were a little scattered in terms of sound it ended up hurting her momentum. Marry the Night after You and I? Wtf? Whereas Marry the Night could have followed or preceded Edge of Glory and Born This Way and worked well sonically while still being unique. Personally, I just think there were odd single choices throughout the album cycle and none of them actually represented the majority of BTW's sound. Weirdly enough, Judas comes the closest to hitting that hard, messy sound, but even that is a little bit different.
Guest
I honestly think it's the music. Like, she has so many eyes on her and simply doesn't deliver fresh songs. I really enjoyed Focus and Dangerous Woman, but I can see why others wouldn't. She and her team need to write stuff that isn't your typical pop song and actually invest some time in making the music not only listenable but also creative. Dangerous Woman and Focus could have been written by seven year olds and no one would have noticed.

When Judas came out I thought I saw multiple reviews comparing it to Bad Romance If anything Judas was Bad Romance on acid. It was way more experimental, heavier and intense. Focus is a watered down Problem.
FRANK1991 3,318
True, the first two songs were not that big of a hit Be Alright is a bop but not as good as One Last Time or Love Me Harder but hey don't start the meltdown now the album's not even released! I'm waiting for the full album release to see if there are any hidden gems Cause once you let it go you better know it's gone
TimisaMonster 31,073
She's promoting her singles quite well...she CAN sing...I think it's more the music and this new "sexy" image she's trying to portray that's turning people off because she still looks 12 Stream my new single, 💜"Heartbeat"💜, on Spotify! Whispering 18,865
She should have taken at least 18 months between eras. It was too soon to come back. Plus, she came back with Focus that was so much like Problem. She also has basically the same look. Then, DW didn't wear well and the video was pretty boring.
