I thought the joke was stupid by the way, but not because of its "racist' undertone. I just dislike scripted jokes in general. Although I did laugh I admit. It reminded me of my first boyfriend and how he used "CP time" to justify his lateness  

Also I'm aware people know this is a joke. What's funny is that they are making it into something it is not.

Well the black guy on the stage makes it clear that this joke was endorsed by him. It also wasn't meant to be at the expense of black people. When a Hispanic guy makes a joke about white people, he has to interact with white people for the disclaimer that this is a joke.

What I'm wondering is who actually sat down together and said "you know what we should do? Tell a racist joke in front of a room full of poc, but then have a good save." and then agreed that it would be a good idea. Because somewhere along the line it was decided that this joke would be made, knowing that it has racist undertones, and yet they still decided to do it. I can't think of anything they would be making fun of either, other than the fact that it was a racist joke, that they turned around... Why script that?
