You got to open your ears girl, that was a post disco masterpiece

I simply don't get it, I think it's one of her worst. The only song I properly like on it is Burning Up. Other than that, there's dated synth beats and off-key vocals and just cringey moments. Everything is such an of-the-moment product of its time, nothing new or groundbreaking. So many artists in the 80's released albums like this and they didn't go anywhere. Based on that, I would never have thought she'd go on to release the masterpieces she did later. It must be noted that at the time, a lot of critics weren't praising her, saying she sounded like Minnie Mouse on helium and was like a low rent Debbie Harry. She's done well to make it despite the odds being against her right from the beginning but still, I'm surprised that she went anywhere considering.

Questionable choices there.

Lorde has only released one album and is still being talked about 3 years later and you think she will be forgotten?

Nicki is already forgotten.

Rih and JB are not on the level of certain remembrance. Not even Gaga is, but I believe in her.

Being talked about isn't the same thing as being successful. Plenty of one hit wonders are remembered a few years after but don't actually amount to anything and a few years later, they're forgotten. Her new album will fail, mark my words. Carly Rae Jepsen released her debut in September 2012 - in the US, it had a massive #1 (bigger than Royals), a top 10 and 2 top 100's. She followed that up with her second album in June 2015, 2 years and 9 months later. Her lead single only went #39 and nothing else charted. No Grammy nominations, no massive albums sales, she's only being supported by a very small online fanbase now. Lorde's career has been very similar - she's coming up to the same gap between albums that Carly had and she also only had one #1 and one top 10. Her song for the Hunger Games soundtrack in 2014 flopped. Her feature on that Disclosure song last year flopped. The only country her album really sold was in the US, by the way. They accounted for a massive portion of her total sales. If she didn't have the worldwide support back then, how will the support be when she comes back with no hit?

Nicki is in no way forgotten. The urban community is loyal and will stand by her for a little while longer at least. She has a notorious #2 hit less than 2 years ago that went viral. Just because she's not getting pop hits anymore doesn't mean that she's not still selling and getting touring money.

I'd quibble JB because he's only just started taking off now but Rihanna will definitely be remembered - she's had over a decade of hits now. And of course Gaga will be remembered. Pokerface and Bad Romance alone have cemented her in pop culture forever.

What an insult to Lorde to compare her to Carly Rae Flopson.

The giant difference between them is that Lorde had a song called Royals, and Call Me Maybe was by some girl no one knows, even to this day. Lorde wasn't eclipsed by her song, nor is she defined by it. Carly had other hits? Did anyone know that? I sure didn't.

I Like Big Butts wasn't a hit two years ago, it was a hit several decades ago when it was first released. The recent remix may have popularized it again for a few seconds, but has already been forgotten. Again, you are putting Nicki's ass (not Nicki herself, just her ass) above Lorde because of superficial success.

A number 1 hit doesn't make you remembered. A Gaga fan of all people should know that. Lorde isn't highly respected just because she had a hit song.

Dangerous Man

What the fvck are you talking y'all? It debuted in the top 10 without a video on hot 100. The only reason why it's not re-entering it yet is because of minimal radio support. Visual 1 has no replay value that's why it isn't helping the song much. Regardless it is still at number 9 on iTunes and is going to outsell Focus.
