Ok, I get it. Katy has been more constant and less fluctuant, right? And views bring views. It's good background music. It's catchy and the meanings are obvious and simple. It's catchy enough and basic enough that a lot of people will give it a listen or just have it on. And it's juuuust deep enough that people don't find it too basic. It appeals to most demographics including young and old, male and female, straight and gay, etc. Gaga's music is kind of the opposite. It's more experimental and the meanings are layered. It can be too deep for some people and go over their heads and they miss what it's really about. Her music always stands out from current pop instead of blending in with it, which a lot of people find too jarring, etc. I'll be myself until they fūcking close the coffin.
