It was good choice. It was really big hit and DITD was played frequently on radios in my country anyway.

Sugar, spice, and everything nice.

Poker Face is a myth. it's not like people remember Katy Perry for Firework... or Elton John for Candle In the Wind, y'know? sales figures and journalism fillers like "the *insert song name* singer" don't mean ****.

From what world are you?
Whenever you talk to someone about Gaga they go on like "po-po-popoker face", the hair bow, the blue swimsuit is one of her most memorable look check on Internet.
It's her signature song and BR is her signature video

there's more to this world than ignorant Americans.

and most people who know her for p-p-p-poker-facing also think of hermaphrodite genitalia and rotten meat and not hair bows.

what I meant is, for people who care more than to simply recognize her as the whatever song singer it's generally those three songs that stick with people. it's the words to those three songs that people would joke around with. and it's the looks from those three videos how they would picture her. now you tell me in what world would people think of the blue swimsuit? no matter how many times they present her with an excerpt from the Poker Face video you have to not know anything about her to decide that's the Lady Gaga look.

I'm from France :toofunny:

Look at lady gaga costume on google, you're delusional.
I'm not telling it's my favorite one, but it's one of the most remember cause with PF she hit hard worldwide. There's a reason it's her most sold single (Paparazzi has no defense against it)

you are the delusional one if you think most people are as ignorant as safe marketing may suggest they are.

and btw I don't get the blue swimsuit lol

also, sales don't make a song less disposable/forgettable. countless examples.

oh and France has always been weirdly culturally misguided so that might explain the impression you were left with. I'm not even saying this in a bad way. it's actually fascinating how they just collectively decide what parts of American pop culture to embrace. Germany is a similar case.

No. It continued her string of top 10 hits in the US and is one of her most well known songs in the World

Fixed.

As much as I wish 'Dance In The Dark' was single I wouldn't change 'Alejandro' :toofunny:

Still thinking that 'Dance In The Dark' is one of her best songs that shows the whole Gaga concept.

Mister Gaga

No. Alejandro is one of her biggest WW hits ever. In Latin America it was bigger than Poker Face, Bad Romance and Uptown Funk COMBINED. AND YOU'LL HAVE TO DEAL WITH IT.

Nope, it was a very smart move from Gaga's management. It was played everywhere in Latinamerica and from what I've heard it's one of Gaga's biggest hits. If the video had been less controversial it probably would've been bigger tho.

Im so surprised to hear how big Alejandro was in countries outside the US. Not that it wasn't a hit here, it just didn't perform as well as her songs up until that point.

To date, Alejandro is her 10th biggest hit in the US

1. Just Dance

2. Poker Face

3. Bad Romance

4. Born This Way

5. Applause

6. The Edge of Glory

7. Paparazzi

8. Telephone

9. LoveGame

10. Alejandro

'Alejandro' was and still a good choice as the 3rd single. Since the video for it came out in June, I wished Gaga dropped a video for Monster as a single in September and close the TFM era with 'Dance In The Dark' as a single and video in December, or release 'Monster' and 'Dance In The Dark' together as a double feature.

Oh well. There must have been a reason why they stopped at Alejandro, or we could've gotten 4-5 singles from TFM.

Let's be real.

'So Happy I Could Die' deserved to be a promo single way more than 'Dance In The Dark.'
