Her contributions to mass incarceration, her opposition of marriage equality until 2013 (while Bernie was creating trans safe spaces in Burlington, VT in the 1980s), her support of both NAFTA and the TPP and her interests in suppressing the creation of democratic governments in the Middle East and wanting to overthrow Assad in Syrian and create sectarian tensions between Sunni and Shiite muslims because it would be 'beneficial to Israel and their western allies' (see her leaked emails: http://newobserveronline.com/clinton-destroy-syria-israel/), she's proven she's nothing but a corporate career politician, a political opportunist, an imperialist and a warmonger. Nothing progressive about that. Don't get sucked into the mob mentality of partisan politics. It's smoke and mirrors. Once again, she is as progressive as Obama. She has been in line with the Democratic Party. She's not an Independent, who was the senator of a small mostly white state, and who decided in the last year to become a Democrat for his benefit. I make my election decisions on years of following politics and policies. The "mob mentality" line belongs to all those believing they are going to get free college tuition and free health insurance. They will believe anything.

Same can be said for Bernie supporters. It just gets too nasty lol. Idk if I'll be motivated enough to go vote for her in November. That's not a good way to think about things. You're having the same mentality as people who hate Gaga because of her fans lol I don't have anything personal against Bernie. I dislike him as a presidential candidate though. What I do hate are the Bernie bros. Edited just now by LebaneseDude.

The correct term is Hillbots :P And yeah some can be just as bad (not all are the same) but they are not as common nor as loud as the Bernie bots. It's to be expected though. Most Hillary supporters are older than the average Bernie supporter, and younger supporters tend to be more zealous and active in social media. Edited just now by LebaneseDude. The problem here is that you are not actually commenting on something relevant to the OP to begin with, so there's no pull a topic change to discuss whether or not she is the IDEAL democrat. The point here is that she has been a DEMOCRAT that has contributed to the party for decades, while Bernie has not. That's a fact. It's also a fact that Bernie is using the party for his own ends. Do you have a counterpoint to that, other than that he identifies with many of the stances? Because that's already been shot down as a bad defense. Edited just now by LebaneseDude. The point is that she has been a democrat working for the Democratic Party for the last few decades. Bernie associated some of his positions with Democrats but he hasn't actually helped the party. That's what is being discussed here. Aligning is not the same as actually being part of it. You can be a Republican and align with many democratic views. It doesn't mean you helped the democrats succeed. This isn't a weak attack. It's the hard truth. O and Jesus get your facts straight. Hillary has never been homophobic. Being pro civil unions as opposed to marriage equality is not a homophobic stance. You quote all these random things Hillary has done, as if that proves your point. What has Sanders done? That's right. Nothing. I'd rather have a Democrat nominee with Bernie's track record in politics a Democrat nominee with Hillary's track record in politics. I've citied issues that are important to me, and she has been on the opposition. In my view, I don't see her being a good representative for the Democratic party, and I don't feel it's appropriate to put more value in her seniority than in her policies that I've disclosed. Well no offense but when all you do is mock Hillary and comment about negative things while failing to post actual defense of the candidate you're preferring such as Sanders, you are going to be considered a blind "supporter". It's not an unbased assumption. I know you from several threads. In any case we shouldn't discuss this here. Edited just now by LebaneseDude.

That's the only way it can function. How else would like minded people form groups to discuss shared interests? How else would there be debates and positions? Establishment this. Establishment that. Don't diss the establishment when you are using it. This is the height of hypocrisy. The fact that there is tension is not the result of politics but of increasingly divergent stances. Are you implying that Bernie's stances are not divergent either? How idiotic. He's literally the same as Hillary except on economy, and his plans are nothing but a dream. The only reason Bernies exist is because Hillarys exist. He's the loud mouth that talks about pipe dreams while the actual politicians do the real work to represent the people. And yea, sometimes politicians **** up too. At least she's doing something. Bernie hasn't done anything of value to the American people. It's funny how it takes a non-American to point out these things. But, the intensity of the partisan politics we've seen over the past couple of decades has led to almost nothing but party polarization and the gridlocking of our government (see: the stifling of Obama's policies and the government shutdown in 2013). Regarding 'divergent stances', you have to consider both economic and sociological factors that contribute to these 'divergences'. Fundamentally, I'd say that both parties (or at least the people that the parties are meant to represent) want the same thing (a stable economy, equal opportunity etc.), but they become distracted by demagoguery that points them in the wrong direction regarding who is the root of these problems. Through party polarization, we see increasingly U.S. citizens within different political parties *blaming each other* for the downfall of the country when, in reality, it IS because of overwhelming corporate influence and growing income inequality. Fox, CNN, MSNBC are all owned by the same pocket of corporations. Both Republicans and Democrats alike receive money from Wall Street and the fossil fuel industry. The differences between some of the politicians, to a certain degree, become semantics. Also: if you look at Hillary's record and Bernie's record, there are almost NO similarities. Hillary supported NAFTA and the TPP, Bernie does not. Hillary supported the Iraq war, Bernie did not. Hillary supported the Wall Street bailout, Bernie did not. Hillary opposed marriage equality until 2013, Bernie has supported the LGBTQIA+ community since the 1980s. In 1963, Bernie was marching on Washington with MLK while Hillary was supporting Barry Goldwater, a conservative segregationist. There are fundamental differences between Bernie and Hillary's policies and who they are as politicians. The only reason the current incarnation of Hillary exists was because she saw the rise of certain grassroots ideologies and realized that she has to adopt this platform in order to try and gain the support of people who might like Bernie, but recognize Hillary Clinton as being 'more qualified'. Also, if you want to get into the myth of Hillary's reputation as a 'do-er' and a 'realist', explain to me how Bernie Sanders has managed to pass more legislation as a Senator. Also, explain how Bernie proposes pipe dreams when almost every other industrialized nation in the world has: universal health care, many have access to state-funded higher education and paid family leave. Also, consider that, in 2008, when the global economy crashed, other countries decided to bailout their working people instead of the economic elite and their countries are thriving (Iceland is a great example). Hillary Clinton is a pathological liar who will say whatever she needs to say to become president. We have forgotten our public MANNERS
