She can do radio and chart friendly as her "main" career, and to chill other music genres or acting. To me it's pretty clear what she's trying to say here. Why didn't she really follow her instincts when she released ARTPOP or Born This Way? Why didn't she really follow her heart when she released her pop albums? Why is this the year she really followed her heart?

It's pretty clear she prefers 2014+ to her past career, at least by her own statements. I'm not saying she hates her pop career. Did you just changed the thread tittle or am i just crazy? anyway "This is a year that I've really been following my instincts...that makes me really happy that a year when I was really following my heart, I am honored for my commitment."- Gaga on 2015 ^ that does not says anything about disliking pop music, maybe she's talking about herself and being who she is, not getting used or doing what others want. The point is, we can't control what she does with her music so why make such drama about it, this thread is very similar to another i think you did the other day. youandi 2,110
I've always cringed at statements like the one I'm about to make but I really want her to come and save pop music. It's been so bad since 2013, even though Avicii/Harris style EDM is dying out now, the uk pop/mainstream music has been dire, mostly consisting of DJ mustard style songs, recycled house tracks and trap music. There are too many new DJs emerging every few weeks in the UK who try and emulate the success of another song and then once that's popular, you don't hear much else from them. Why can't pop music be a bit more varied like 2010 to 2012?There doesn't seem to be much interest in actual popstars and famous musicians here at the minute, other than Justin Bieber and Adele. She obviously by "following her instincts" as deciding to become an actress and singing jazz standards because that was all she did in 2015. I'm not trying to control what she does with her music. My thread is my own opinion on how she views her pop career, that's it.

I honestly think Gaga lost her talent in understanding pop culture- what works and what doesn't. She became so big because she knew how to hit the right spot in the music and visuals. I think it's rare for artists to be able to really understand the scene multiple times in their career, especially when they get so big and are blinded by fame and fortune. We can only hope though

Maybe she was just afraid that, lets say, after BTW, if she would've done a complete Jazz era, that we (her fans) would turn very fast against her and don't support her. Spoiler Turns out it happend to some extend during ARTPOP I think she tested the waters a bit with A very Gaga Thanksgiving and The Lady is a Tramp, and it seemed to get a lot of positive feedback. But ARTPOP was in the works back then and due to mismanagement and her hip, I think AP turned out to be a big mess for her. And now that's shes been through the AP era, she's like, "idk if this works or not for my career, I love this work and I've had worse times". Or otherwise, she has been pressured to do some things she did, but I don't know if thats the case.

We can only hope though Hmmm I disagree. I don't want her to look at what's working, I'm bored of all the big artists following trends and stuff, I want her to come out with something different and exciting, even though Disco/funk has been creeping in slowly, it would be more interesting if she released that than any of the stuff popular at the minute. 'Rihanna, Beyonce, Adele, Katy Perry, Bieber, they're all just spokes on a wheel. This one’s on top, then that one’s on top, and on and on it spins, crushing those on the ground. I’m not going to stop the wheel. I’m going to break the wheel' - Lady Gaga 2016

The flash is just in her eyes because there's a camera up in her face. Why would she be embarrassed of her own pop song that went to number one and literally made her a star. She's said so many times how thankful she is for the success of that record. She is definitely not embarrassed of it, or pop music in general. 🤖⚡️

AmenTheNight 1,084
Well except for Bad Romance she always seemed to criticize all her previous works or at least imagined other ways she could have executed them. Just listen to her at the ArtRAVE when she sings PF, JD or Alejandro, you can hear in her voice that she is sick of them. But who wouldn't be sick of singing the same songs almost every day for years. Don't worry about LG5 guys. I'm also convinced that the wait is stupid (February was the month to go), but I'm sure it will be worth it. I hope this will be her Ray of Light ! I trust Mark Ronson and Elton, she's coming for quality this time around. Her best lyrics are coming, I can feel it.
