She had top-notch fashion Epic photoshoots and monumental collaborations with Louvre if that is basic to you, then she must probably bleed on stage or wear a meat dress, that's the only way to not be basic, right? And after ARTPOP she has been promoting a Jazz album, no need to be eccentric. Spill it girl this is what I was trying to say in an earlier comment. She gave us many avant-garde moments during ARTPOP. LoveandMagic 1,731
No. She's in-between musical era's for one, but even now I see her put little touches here and there that show a more avant-garde side to her. She's very much obsessed with art and fashion, I would think, especially when we get to the touring part, that she is going to want to express her wild side a bit more. Gaga is more than just the avant-garde, but it's still a part of her because she loves to experiment. At no point has she ever looked like a basic bitch to me, it's just that right now she seems to be exploring more of the "lady" part of "Lady Gaga." Just repeat to yourself, "It's just a show. I should really just relax."
REALITY 76,569
She's literally the completely opposite of what it means to be "basic", just because she's tone down the outfits and [currently] releasing any new music, besides TIHTY, doesn't mean that she's "basic" by any means. I mean, this is Gaga. She's as far of as you can imagine. If anything, she is one of the most, if not, the most complex pop star we have right now. She's an actress; singer/songwriter; sings jazz, classical, pop, rock, all very well; is an activist for LGBT+ rights, speaks for survivors of sexual assault/abuse, and has even started her own foundation. That's certainly not basic. 𝔊𝔬𝔬𝔡𝔟𝔶𝔢, ℑ'𝔩𝔩 𝔰𝔢𝔢 𝔶𝔬𝔲 𝔦𝔫 𝔪𝔶 𝔡𝔯𝔢𝔞𝔪𝔰
JbGaga 2,261
In the terms or The world of Gaga I would say yes. In terms of music industry talent I would say never.
XoXoJoanneGaga 629
Many of her vocals performances this past year+ have been some of her greatest accomplishments. If the next album is full of pedestrian productions and anonymous songwriting then we can have this discussion again.
SISTERV 3,887
I definitely think Brandon wants to refine her image. I think it's so people recognize her style more in a referential way. Meaning, she still wears oversized heels, big shades, blonde hair. Those are "Gaga" things like the way people think white glove for Michael or come bra for Madonna. During ARTPOP everything went all over the place. It lacked cohesiveness. She still dresses a bit odd considering how much more "gay-ized" mainstream fashion has come since 2008. But her wackiness has become for organized. I'm sure we will see excursions from this when the album comes. It's good for Gaga to have a staple look in between eras rather than always being fashion driven because then she can display new looks in a more effective way during album campaigns. It shows a difference in tone which helps her artistic endeavors during specific eras, rather than her being in a constant state of experimenting with fashion. arthurhmangum 4,408
Overbearingly so. She hasn't actually interested me visually in so long. Stressed, depressed, but well dressed.

Battle 4 Ur Life 6,713
It kills me so much to say this but I gotta be true to myself: I'm afraid so, yes, a little bit basic since the end of the artRave. waiting for LG5 to snatch my weave and show who owns this s* tho. It's all I ask for, I pray for it every morning tbh. “Fantastic, chic, freak, slay.”

Versace 7,959
It's called being diverse , it's called evolving artistically , in fact now that Dance Pop is so popular , TF and TFM are not as unique as they once were especially when you have other thematic albums such as Badlands and Cry Baby. I'm not saying that thematic albums were Gagas thing and weren't around before but I'm saying that music is expanding beyond just the sound. Gaga being "normal" is Gaga exploring new areas none the less, basic is like sticking to an agenda, formula, certain sound. Gagadaily should learn how to use the term basic otherwise look it up. What also ticks me is that saying something is basic is as subjective as you can get and quite irrelevant if we think about it. If a singer is basic, then kudos to them I'm not here to judge how they like to do things but how good they are at doing it. To many Katy is considered basic for sticking to her formula of making catchy pop songs that appeal to kids and adults alike, her songs may have nothing beyond their surface meaning and their sound might as well be recycled from her previous tunes. But hey she does the job right, her aim is to create songs that appeal to a wide audience and get them to sing to over joyous memorable pop lyrics, she excels in that, therefore she's good at what she does. Basic does not mean you're a bad singer nor a bad artist but just less artistic, Katy even said once her goal is simply to entertain.
kaojen 1,571
Some of Gagas "basic" looks around ARTPOP: To name a few. Then during the C2C Era So imo her look hasn't become basic at all. And for award shows that were about acting or performances that were not centered around her vision it's no wonder they were toned down. Basic to me is not what she appears to be. But it's all about opinion.
Ronk 14,762
Gaga will never be basic. I live outside the space time continuum.
