Melanie Martinez a diva but Gaga a saint? (discussion)

I've seen Melanie get emotional and cry over the fact that people at her shows sing every word to a song that she wrote from her heart, and she says how that's what music all about. So you're saying she should just get a get out of jail free card because of her age? She's ****ing 20, I know more matured teenagers. 

She shows her appreciation by telling her fans to be quiet and publicly humiliating them when all they wanted was a ****ing picture. Playing defender of the faith for a grown woman with attitude problems shouldn't be accepted.

Basically the most important factor to remember is that Melanie didn't set out with the intent of being famous, she was just really passionate about writing music and poetry and singing. Much like Lana Del Rey actually. They're both singer/songwriters with passion and talent, but don't like the fame side of things. And they've both been bashed for not handling it well.

The major difference with Gaga is that she SET OUT to be famous, she started with the INTENTION of growing a fans base, creating super fans, and having an influence on pop culture. That was her GOAL. And even with the life of fame being her goal, and her thick skin, and her strong will power, she still gets pissed sometimes, because she's a human being who experiences ups and downs in her life.

Having no compassion for someone living a life you can't even begin to understand should not be accepted. Have you spent months on the road? Changing time zones? Never getting enough sleep? With people screaming at you every night? And people not treating you like a human any more? Putting cell phones in your face and talking over you and treating you like an object? Then you don't really get a say on how easy that life is, my friend.

I don't agree with Melanie getting annoyed with her fans but she is entitled to her feelings.

I respect her as an artist so I'm able to look past that incident and still appreciate her.

Someone who doesn't like her music might not be able to and that's just the way of the world I guess.

You know except the part where Gaga repeatedly said that even if she didnt strike it big and made it like she has thus far, she would still be working hard at her craft because she loves it.

You go into this business with the lingering possibilty that people enjoy your work enough to follow you as an artist. Idk what this logic is that she's just an innocent young girl who didnt want this. She was on the ****ing Voice.

I have compassion for compassionate people, and that Melanie is not. People like her get no sympathy because they aren't sympathetic. She's a weak person with a shitty attitude any color you want to paint it.

So did Melanie Martinez piss on your dog or bitchslap your mom or something? I saw your posts in the other thread, and you just seem to be seething with an unusually high level of disdain for her. Maybe that's not how you legitimately feel, but that's how it's coming across.

On the contrary, I liked her music at first. Then I come across all this bullshit about her lyrics being uber intelligent and her needing a free pass because she got famous as a grown woman and it's grating.

I don't support artists who are shitty to their fans. She has so many defenders but no defensible points.

Well hello new friend! Gaga will always be my number 1 but Melanie is a VERY close number 2 and I'm a huge fan! She's the only other musician I've found who is a true artist who dedicates all their time, money, and passion into creating their vision.

You're ignoring the largely different scenarios in the two videos... If Gaga ever did something like that at the ArtRave it would've been weird.. The girl Melanie was telling to hush was at a freaking pop concert of course she's gonna be high energy. With JazzGa you're not supposed to be screaming and jumping either way.
