Jesse Pinkman 4,660
Just now, Britney Spears said: You judge Iggy's fans for hating on Nicki and then you hate on Iggy Darling 1)she has a 2 years career and already MANY hits.. Fancy,Black Widow,Problem were huge worldwide.Booty, work did well too..And team hasn't really flopped yet? It's growing on the radio, the video is just out and the song is great 2)Let's not forget that Nicki went 100% pop to get 90% of her hits. Her only real rap hit is Anacoda which is also only based on the video.. So sit down babe No you sit down, because the reason why Nicki isn't slaying top 40 is because urban music lacks radio support. I hated when Nicki was pop, and it was embarrasing. When she transitioned back to urban, I still felt kind of iffy. But all in all I give her respect for that because it's hard enough for black women to slay these days, and especially on top 40. No one gives a damn about those Iggy singles anymore, I'm not a Iggy hater I'm just keeping it real. I think she's a sweet girl, but her time has come and gone.. Nicki will always be around. You know why? Because she no longer relies on fickle top 40 fans to keep her afloat like the other one. She'll always have a seat in the real hip-hop community. It's science, bitch

Rihanna,Beyonce disagree I don't think that it's easy to predict anyone's future so let's wait and see how Iggy's career will go... Btw songs like the night is still young are pretty pop and radio friendly

Btw songs like the night is still young are pretty pop and radio friendly Rihanna and Beyoncé are outliers. Do you know how many black women there are in the industry? What about: Jaszmine Sullivan K. Michelle Tinashe Zendaya Tamar Braxton And sooo many others. Ever since Beyoncé stopped catering to top 40, she has only received one top 10 hit. And Rihanna makes easily to digest pop music, so that'swhy she's an exception. So please. Its very clear that top 40 has stopped supporting urban music, and many black artists ever since the turn of the decade and the pop explosion. Lil Wayne used to be huge tho, despite being horrible.. We can't blame people flopping based on their colour. The fact that a big part of the main stars in music are black means that there isn't really a difference (And Nicki is one of the main stars) Btw Urban music has been really popular in the last 2-3 years I think I think that pop is the one that is flopping now :p Btw Anti is more experimental than anything Nicki or Beyonce have done Pinkprint which is Nicki's most rap album still have 50% pop ballads

This thread is in relation to top 40. I never said all black women were flopping. They aren't receiving support from top 40 whatsoever, which is the easiest way to get a #1. The radio audience for pop in relation to urban is vastly different. But even when some try to crossover, such as Tinashe, they never get the support. Its easier for men, as you've pointed out. Just look at Jason Derulo. If you don't believe me, I suggest you do some research on how the charts have changed today in comparison to previous decades. Which single from ANTi (out of the 3 previous flops she released), is slaying? Right. So experimental. It's science, bitch

Well Nicki has been huge already in the past.So it's definitely not about her "making it"..I think that when your career is mostly based on your body isntead of your music,it's obvious that you will start declining from the mainstream music. Like there are not many white women with great music that are flopping...

Work has been #1 for 6 weeks and Fourfiveseconds was top 3 2)What exactly is a straight up lie? Nicki hasn't done anything experimental in her life.. And Beyonce's last album was kinda experimental (and actually got huge success and praise) but Anti is definitely more experimental and not radio friendly at all (at its biggest part)

I'm not talking about white women, but since you wanna go THERE. The ratio between white women slaying far beats the ratio between black women slaying. And I'm sure the ratio between how many white women are supported on top 40 is even higher. And yes, Nicki was huge before she started catering to urban markets.
