To me it's the first time in ages that Gaga has worn something that actually looked like a Gaga outfit from the past. It might be a big label, but it's a lot more 'Gaga' than her Golden Globes dress and other similar conventional dresses. I'm not sure I agree with some of the article overall. Gaga has always been a vehicle for other fashion designers. She's always worn a mix of independent labels, do-it-yourself fashion and haute couture. Nothing has fundentally changed. The only thing that's changed is her style. But then, last week she walked into her apartment building wearing an outfit that looked like sheets of tin foil wrapped around her, so saying her style became more conventional is bit redundant as she is constantly evolving from day to day. I get what the article is saying, I just think they're compartmentalising parts of her career when, in truth, she has always held those fashion ideologies and has always changed her look. As soon as her new era starts she will have another style, which will immediately date this article. I love this response. Exactly what I was thinking. I liked the article because it discusses an aspect of Gaga that is often overlooked but as you said, once she changes her "style", this article will be dated. People keep putting her into boxes or specific frames for compartmentalization, without ever realizing that with Gaga's style, the only thing constant is change. She can wear full Versace head-to-toe for a month because she wants to channel the ancient Italian gods of couture or something then wear a ripped shirt and panties with sneakers the next day. She does what she wants.

She's been slowly looking more and more "Gaga" lately than she did for much of 2014 and 2015 in fact

Dont get me wrong i LOOOOVE ARTPOP more than BTW and TFM and hate madonna with passion But it was what it was You're not entirely wrong since much of what we got during that era both musically and visually was the result of a lot of pressure on her to go back to old, more fun Gaga and give people what they expected of her. This look for example can't really be seen as anything but a heinous attempt to bring back Fame Gaga: But she did have some great, more original looks around the start of the era, mainly the ones with brown hair. Psychedelic 1,098
The ARTPOP wasn't in any way a recycle of Gaga's past eras. She said herlsef "I'm every icon" So she played with the whole pop culture and that included her past personas as she was already part of this culture. But overral the ARTPOP era is so different to any other Gaga era, you need to be color-blind to not notice it. So don't trash Gaga... And don't trash Madonna either, at leats not for what this article is saying. Madonna hasn't transformed herlsef???? What are some of you saying! I hate it how media and some of you, drag these 2 women just for the sake of "who copied who", or "who's more talented" or "who deserves praise and who does not". They both have their own place in music industry and at the end of the day what should matter the most to all of us is that if it wasn't for these 2 women, POP WOULDN'T HAVE ANY NERVE. Before they appeared in their respective time, pop would always follow the same formula with everyone. These 2 ladies redefined, each in their own way, the way pop culture and the music industry worked. They really pushed the envelope! SO STOP WITH THIS NON-SENSE WAR! We should only be thankful, because the music world we love nowadays is as free as it is because people like them dared to go further and defy the rules of an industry!
