I've compiled a list of the top selling albums of the 2016 Billboard year so far. The Billboard year started with the week that Justin Bieber's album debuted at #1. All of the figures are accurate unless it says "about" and that means that the figures are off a few thousand. I'm sure I've missed a few albums in the lower region of the list, but this at least give you an idea of how the albums are selling. Revival by Selena Gomez is in there somewhere but can’t find the figures. I just know it has sold 330,000 copies overall and sold 85,000 in its first week. But I’m missing the next four weeks of numbers so I can subtract them from 330,000. I'd guess the number is something like 150,000 for 2016.

1. Adele - 25 (8,638,476)
2. Justin Bieber - Purpose (1,686,000)
3. One Direction - Made in the A.M. (841,236)
4. Coldplay - A Head Full of Dreams (531,000)
5. Beyonce - Lemonade (485,000)

6. Taylor Swift - 1989 (about 440,000)
7. Adele - 21 (about 429,000)
8. David Bowie - Blackstar (409,000)
9. Rihanna - ANTI (384,270)

10. Joey + Rory - Hymns (328,000)

Panic at the Disco - Death of a Bachelor (325,000)

Chris Brown - Royalty (322,000)
Prince - The Very Best of Prince (320,000)
G-Eazy - When It’s Dark Out (276,000)
The Weeknd - Beauty Behind the Madness (about 260,000)
Kevin Gates - Islah (234,000)
Kendrick Lamar - Untitled Unmastered (209,000)
Tori Kelly - Unbreakable Smile (190,000)
Troye Sivan - Blue Neighborhood (155,000)
Future - EVOL (141,000)
Zayn - Mind of Mine (144,000)
The 1975 - ILIWYSFYASBYSUOI (132,000)
Sia - This Is Acting (146,000)
Charlie Puth - Nine Track Mind (114,000)
Gwen Stefani - This Is What the Truth Feels Like (119,000)
Prince - The Very Best of Prince (100,000)
Rachel Platton - Wildfire (91,000)
Yo Gotti - The Art of the Hustle (74,000)
Macklemore & RL - This Unruly Mess I’ve Made (72,00)

Purple rain : 62

Albums released in 2015 that remain popular are also hard to track, examples of these include:

Blurryface - twenty one pilots

Traveller - Chris Stapleton

Montevallo - Sam Hunt

The fact that 21 has sold more copies than ANTi and other new albums. :deadbanana:

At this rate 21 will probably sell 1 million copies by the end of the year. :unicorn:

Revival sold 330,000 copies with two top tens and one top 20. Yikes. Why were people making such a big deal about this girl?

Well you can't even spell the name of the album right. It's Revival. It must not be that holy.

Idg why Billboard's "year" starts in November. It's so annoying. Why can't they just do it every calendar year?

I'm speaking different languages just like our Holy Mother Selena told us, to spread the word of her music.

I don't understand either. The only reasoning i've come up with is so that they can have the year-end charts in their year-end double issue in December.

It's a retail thing. Remember sales also were profitable for stores when albums used to sell in stores. Way back in the dark ages. They just never updated the calendar.
