AIex 3,102 Posted March 30, 2016 Share Posted March 30, 2016 Some of you may or may not know, but alter ego albums have been getting trendier and trendier recently Examples are, Electra Heart by Marina and the Diamonds, Cry Baby by Melanie Martinez and Blurryface by twenty one pilots. Also I Am Sasha Fierce *cough*buyvideophoneonitunes*cough* Even ARTPOP was mainly the Venus and Mary Jane Holland alter egos, if I'm correct. Blurryface is my favorite, because it has so much meaning behind it, its so mysterious. It has messages you have to listen very hard to notice. It has messages you have to reverse the songs to hear. It has separated point of views from Tyler Joseph (normal voice) about Blurryface and then actual Blurryface (deep voice) in the same songs. It has a real secret messages / hints Twitter account that posts during very specific parts of live performances as they're happening, to add to the mysteriousness. It even has a song that's actually supposed to be slowed down to the speed of its demo, so you hear it in Blurryface's voice instead of Tyler's, there's billions of fan theories. So many bits and codes to figure out. Meanwhile, Electra Heart and Cry Baby are just straight up dark storylines with not much behind. Would you enjoy a Gaga concept/alter ego album? Pop music is bigger than ever, an album like The Fame would smash. Not necessarily about the same thing but related to the same concepts with different sounds.
