Did we listen to the same album? In what world Blackout was underwhelming? The whole Britney fanbase say it's their fave album, it received many good critics.

Lol don't get me wrong, Blackout is my third fav Britney album, I love it a lot.

I'm saying that it got a bad rap for the most part, I mean before Britney Jean lol it was the most criticised Britney album and being the only Britney album to not debut at #1 till BJ came along :green:

I've never listened to this album. I used to listen to Lotus back on 2012 but now going back to it, it sounds so basic and uninspired. I'm not willing to give Xtina a chance, at least not with older stuff.

Also I strongly disagree that 4 is underwhelming. It is the best album musically in Bey's discography despite it's commercial underperformance at the time. She got rid of the commercial element in her music and created a timeless record which she is yet to top. (ST has a much more interesting and stronger concept but it has both experimental and commercial pop/RnB songs on it).

About the flop wave - I think every artist experiences downs after strong ups. It's only natural. And those who are capable to overcome the downs stay in industry and come up even stronger. e.g Bey after 4; Rih after Rated R; Gaga now.

That's not true, I've been a Britney fan since Circus and I remember in 2011-12 Femme Fatale was the most criticized album of hers in the fanbase.

Lol hun , I've been following Britney ever since the In The Zone era so it's not a competition to me and I remember ever thing that happened with Femme Fatale so vividly and with all due respect what you are saying is completely false in my book. Lurking on GGD , Femme Fatale had such a positive rap for itself even with this fan base , ask this fan base whats their fav Britney album and it's most likely Femme Fatale, Blackout or In The Zone.

And besides, I'm not basing it on what GGD thinks, I'm basing it on how it actually got received. Everyone who follows the music industry and especially Britney should know that commercially before BJ , Blackout was Britney's least commercial album, go see the gimme more vma performance and you'll get a clue. I won't argue about this and I never said that Blackout was underwhelming to me so there's nothing to further discuss.

Femme Fatale is full of godly bops and aside from Gimme More and Freakshow, Blackout is awful.

A flop is a failure. Bionic was was quickly forgotten but that does not make it a flop. it simply came and went without notice (ignored), unlike ARTPOP which was derided and laughed at by the media.

I was talking about BEYONCÉ. Hence Self-titled. :toofunny: I've seen many people use it here and I adopted it to type faster. We tend to abbreviate everything, sorry for being ambiguous. :flop:

no, but it became a blueprint for all the flops that came and will come after it :green:
