Seriously, can these comments stop? I see them everywhere and everytime when there is a non western attack lately. I hope both of you have been posting a 'RIP' comment in every single topic for every tragic event since you became a member. These comments are so annoying and really have become a trend since the last attack on Brussels. It has been for ever that western media mostly cares bout events happening in the western countries. A nice example is the shooting on Charlie Hebdo when a few days earlier literally 2,000 people died from an attack in Nigeria. But you know about that right? Because otherwise you're just a sheep and just now complaining because every 'moral' human being seems to do so atm.

Anyway, you expect every western country to report about every single bombing? Well then good for you because this has been covered by many western media's. But oh wait, they have to be covered by as much attention as attacks on western ground according to you! Well that's not going to happen. I do understand A LIFE IS EQUAL no matter where you live. But ofcourse tragedies that happen close to you or countries you relate to will be more of a deal than a country whose ideals you do not relate too. This isn't only for muslim countries, this goes as well for Asian countries or even countries like Russia which get less media coverage.

Do you think these countries also treat every tragedy with the same attention? No, and it's a normal thing to do. But that does not mean they don't care. Of course they do but they just don't relate as much.

Also western media has reported many times about bombings and wars years ago, but it became such a recurringsubject that people would be less shocked about bombings outside the western countries. Of course this is a false thing because a bombing may have occured as rarely in Kuwait as in Brussels, for example, but people tend to pit every country (outside the western ones) in one group. And if you want to make a change, educate people about that.

So, the sentence about 'western media doesn't give a ****' is just invalid. They do give a ****, just not as big of a **** as they do about tragedies close to home.

Finally, point is stop caring about media and care about the victims. And if you wanna comment about how the western media seems to ignoring bombings in muslim countries, please take it elsewhere and not in a topic about the bombing. It's disrespectful, annoying and makes u look like u have an agenda, just like western media. Reason I wrote this is because I'm tired of these comments. (Also if you are western and you think your media news site doesn't report enough about bombing, use Google and look for a site that does. I will reassure you there are many English news sites that do care :) ).

On-topic: This pointless killing really needs to stop.

Drag the people that want to act like they're somehow enlightened because they point this out.

@Morphine Prince I like you, but you're wrong on this and this thread is not for 'dragging' people either. I don't think you and @Lioness really get it.

Take one thing to consideration, many of these comments are made by people who live in the West, but have some sort of connections to these countries, whether it's family ties or friends, whatever. So it probably hurts to see huge differences in media coverage and expressions of sympathy. Notice how this thread can't get to second page, people don't bother to post RIP anymore and we have members from all over the world. But when similar thing happens in West BOTH western and non-western members post in 10+ pages thread to express their "irrational anger" or sympathy.

Media does not care about anybody. They care about clicks and ratings. But media can also shape minds of people.

The biggest reason people start to riot, demand revenge or blame immigrants and refugees for terrorism in the West is because most don't have understanding or sympathy for the death and destruction these non-Westerners escaped. It's also because Western governments are involved in bombings of these countries, so of course media doesn't want you to know about faces and names drones or terrorists have killed "over there, far away". They're just numbers.

No one is asking them to "care more", but to be more fair. So people wouldn't have this idea that these countries are just full of savages who are now all invading the West and threatening your culture. "It happens too often" is really heartless thing to say, it should never become a norm.

Istanbul is European city, but bombings there sparked a debate about Kurdish issue. There was no much expressions of anger or sadness. But if you remember, Western media shockingly reported how huligans in stadium didn't respect moment of silence for victims of terrorism in West... but they see their victims don't matter so it's not really strange, is it?

There is a difference between big headlines and tens of articles every day (for weeks) about one tragic event vs. one headline and then it's buried somewhere under other news.

Anyway, I wanted to say more but I'm too tired, I probably forgot something. Hopefully you understand what I'm trying to say.
