She "hated Hollywood" because she was an anxious mess with trust issues. She was a drug addict who secluded herself from everyone except those inside her inner circle. She is now a healthy, happy person, and healthy, happy people socialize with their peers and make friends. She has allowed her walls to come down, which is nothing other than a sign that she is in a good place personally and emotionally. The only people who would try to find an issue with this are people who don't understand mental illness/drug addiction. There is absolutely nothing pretentious about having a birthday party.
