ntns but we already have the NAACP Image Awards and the BET Awards.

Let's just hope that more people of color (not just black people) score more roles and that the Oscars will acknowledge these roles.

I'm not a woman. I'm not a man. I am something that you'll never understand.

There are already black film award shows. It wouldn't be any different than the Latin Grammys. Why not? Probably have more minorities than just black compared to the Oscars :laughga:

This isn't "segregation" this is exactly like the BET awards they're awards meant to honor those who deserve the recognition but are consistently snubbed bc of the voters

I'd be for it if the Oscars weren't just a symptom of the bigger problem.

Bob could be played by an Asian actor, or any race, but instead Bob is made white. Ok fine.

Sally could be played by an Indian Actor, or any race, but instead Sally is made white. Ok.

Alfred could be played by a Black Actor, or any race, but instead Alfred is made white. ...

Kim is literally Oriental stereotype incarnate and will be played by an Asian Actor who will play an extremely intelligent geeky hacker who eats a lot of rice, watches tons of anime and fantasizes about women he will never have.

THIS IS THE PROBLEM.

The Oscars are problematic, sure, but the issue lies in pre-production, in the castings, when the director, casting director, producer and writers sit down to decide who plays what, they are Hollywood, they are the ones who decide who gets the big callback and who goes on to the next audition. They are the ones responsible for making 3/4 of a cast white and the 1/4 of the roles being a mashup of racially stereotypical characters who will be killed anyway to make room for more pretty white actors (sorry if that sounds racially charged, I'm just being honest about what I see on Netflix and TV).

Life ain't Hollywood for any one of us.
