Hi everyone! I was bored and wondering, what are your opinions of fade outs in songs? in case you don´t know, its when the vocals or instrumental progressively begin to decrease in volume until there is no more sound and the song is over.

here is a list of faded out songs throughout Gaga´s discography (not sure it thats all there is)

Paparazzi

Beautiful Dirty Rich

The Fame

Summer Boy

Dance In the Dark

Hair

Fashion of His Love

The Queen

Do What You Want

I dont mind fade outs but 9/10 I will always rather have a definite clear ending to a song over a slow fade down (I would love a full ending on "The Queen" tho), and would not necessarily endorse them on LG5, but at the same time I dont care/complain about them.

Here´s an example of what DWUW would be with a full ending (artRAVE version, ignore the added drums).

or do you prefer the official one?

discuss! :unicorn::hor:

Jk, I don't mind them. I guess it depends on the direction they wanna take with the song.

Well mostly I like her song endings to end with a big beat/bang like in judas where she can do a FAB pose at the end, however fading out at the end a song can make it more emotional, depends on the song hehe, good question 👑 Doesn't make me prefer a song though

I like clear endings too, they're more powerful and seem more thought out than fade outs.

Like Americano for example. I know that song is not exactly a fan favorite but I love the ending with the sound of a gun shot.

I also like the bang at the end! although for live versions they usually reconstruct the ending so it has a clear one. like paparazzi and DWUW

same, its more dramatic. I could not find the official synths to add it in to the track for my music :( all the ones have those computerized basses and drums that sound fake

I wouldn't mind, but I have a thing with fade out endings. They sound like the artist didn't know how to end the song and said ''let's just decrease the volume :emma:''

I like clear endings. If it has a fade out... How do you know when to stop dancing?

I absolutely hate songs that fade out, so many Mariah Carey songs fade out and that just makes them weird, as for Gaga if Paparazzi and Do What U Want had a proper ending, a BANG, they'd probably be even more better!
