Did we give up on Mother Monster during ARTPOP?

Yes, I personally loved ARTPOP and it's one of my favorite albums. Some of us just seem to underrate it. :neyde:

"We" did not. Some people - yes. Here there are pretty good examples. (don't quote me and tell me how it's alright to dislike an album, I'm not talking about you guys who have valid reasons, I'm talking about those butthurt boys who keep on bashing it cause their self-esteem got seriously damaged because of ARTPOP's udnerperformance)

It's also quite funny how less than 3 years later this "underperforming" album's sales are obtainable by like 5-10 people in the whole music industry. #SuchAFlop :green:

ARTPOP could mean anything.

I honestly don't think GaGa gave a **** how it turned out, if she did it would've been a hit, that's how she roles. Barely any promo etc.

Tbh I didn't really enjoy ARTPOP when it was released however after watching the 'era' happen and listening to it again it's a great album. which is pretty intelligent in the way it's written and produced. ARTPOP is like an onion.

I never considered myself a little monster and she was never "Mother monster" to me. I was disappointed with how ARTPOP turned out, she's not my friend and I don't want her to be, there's nothing wrong with that

Why are you on this cult site then :wtf:

Threads like this make me seethe.

No one but Gaga's management/team abandoned her. We were not desperate for a hit, some of us wanted consistency. Furthermore, we were let down with false lies and broken promises :neyde:

Gaga's ex manager and her team betrayed her, not us.

I agree with this there are probably some fans that left the fanbase  when things got tough but I think most of the fans didn't really care if it wasn't a huge smash. I know I didn't give a damn I just think that if she released more singles and promoted it well enough to reach the radio that was fine with me. I thought ARTPOP was a good fun album to dance to. Like Gaga said it's hard to replicate her first album success with 20 million sold albums. Some fans need to get over the damn chart sales and video views seriously who gives a ****??? Just stick with and appreciate the artist for the amazing talent that she is.

It's not our fault. Every fan has to decide how to stand behind his idol. If Gaga doesn't sale as good as The Fame sold or Born This Way people can lose interest in her...

I'm very unlike this position. I love Lady Gaga since The Fame era and I still do and only if ARTPOP doesn't sound like The Fame or Born This Way she's the same Artist who I adore anyway. A good example is TIHTY. This song was nominated for a Grammy and an Oscar but it didn't win both. Who cares? The song can be successful anyway.

What I want to say is that you don't have to be #1 to be successful. The true success is in the work.

Honestly? No.

The ARTPOP era was a mess caused by Gaga and her ex manager.

The fans were surprisingly nice considering everything that was promised and not delivered.

She still has plenty of superfans waiting even though she delivered only 2 pop videos in 4 years.

We have to remember that she is the one that has to entice us into caring about her art. She is the artist and the salesman and she needs to step it up (like she did in 2008-2011)

This tbh.

Look, i am a huge Gaga fan, I love her and she is a huge inspiration for me. But the truth of it all, I truly dont care if she hates us or loves us. At the end of the day, she doesnt even know I exist. It is nice having a fan and artis conection tho.

Thing is, Gaga and her music are a business, she is the seller and her product is the music. Like this user says, she has to make us want it, and not deliver false lies. The fans turned on her after all these lies that were made by her and her management starting in 2012: All songs will have music videos, it is an experimental album, there will be two parts, etc. Etc. As a businesswoman, she has learned to stay quiet now instead of making promises before the album drops. I understand that it takes a long time for music to get produced, hence the reason why Im not constantly saying HURRY UP AND RELEASE LG5 BITCH! I want an album that is well produced and delivers art instead of generic garbage. Was it normal for the fans to turn on her? Yes. It's like Sony hyping, idk, a PSP3 for two years, saying IT WILL HAVE 3D HOLOGRAPHIC GAMING, IT WILL HAVE LIVE VIDEO CHAT FEATURES, AND YOU WILL BE ABLE TO CONNECT WITH MUSIC ARTISTS DIRECTLY THRU THE MUSIC HUB PORTAL, and in the end when it gets released, we end up buying a brick painted black with PSP3 words on the back of it. Yall wont be saying, AWW. ITS OK SONY. WE UNDERSTAND. YOURE AN ARTISTÉ. YOU GOT IT WRONG THIS YEAR, BUT WE WILL WAIT ANOTHER 3 YEARS FOR THE NEXT PSP AND WE ARE SURE THIS ONE WILL BE THE GAME SYSTEM OF THE MILLENIUM. WE STILL LOVE U SONY. Instead yall would raise hell and say FU SONY! GIVE US OUR MONEY BACK! YALL SUCK! AND U GUYS CALL YOURSELVES GAMING INOVATORS? YOU GUYS WILL FADE AFTER THIS!

Long story short, Gaga can distance herself from us, but we are her customers, so she needs to get her stuff together professionally, which is what she is doing now. Otherwise, she can go back to her pre ARTPOP era, it will have this and that, distance herself from us again, and become the next Christina Millian music wise, as in WHERE IS SHE NOW?
