That crying during make up is an ancient Italian opera tradition to honor the character in the play.

mess at you saying she is focusing on the wrong things and sound defeated. you just dont "move one" from depression, you cant wake up one day and "cure yourself". it will forever be part of you and you cant help but feel down sometimes, specially when things remind you about your struggles. let her talk and feel sad about it. id rather her talk and say what she feels so we can help and give support, rather than put on a fake smile and hide her feelings that will eventually kill her just to please fans that "are feeling depressed because she is".....:grr:

I honestly think Gaga has a victim complex.

This did not start in the AP era, by the way. Remember those stories in the BTW era about how "she was thrown in a trash can", and the Monster ball tour DVD where she cries and says things like she feels like a loser but she refuses to be destroyed and things like that?

Gaga is her own biggest enemy in these ways and she really should work with a psychologist to get over that. And by that I don't mean Marina Abramovic who was supposed to fix her but really didn't.

The Gaga cycle: Insert-trauma-here almost destroyed me → Insert-savior-here healed me and I can finally be myself x infinity.

this is not a joke. you dont get ONE trauma per life. I WISH that were the case, but it is not....and none of us really know how affected she is... fans act like its just the typical, but what could be repetitive to you is harming for her:wtf:

Doesn't she have clinical depression? If so then you cant expect her to be uppity all the time. Gaga is in a better place now but that doesn't mean everyday is rainbows and unicorns. She is going to have days where she feels anxious, depressed, nervous, and hopeless no matter how big of a star she is. Depression is something that never truly goes away and her next era can be her most successful but it wont ever fully take away her depression. She's a human being and its actually great that she talks about her pain because bottling up all of those emotions can be detrimental to one's mental health. Depressed people like Gaga and me, want to talk about our feelings and experiences to anyone who is willing to listen and most importantly relate to. We want to express our pain because if we dont then we feel hopeless, neglected and eventually lose our mind.

humans have a tendency to play victim. but that doesnt meant they are faking anything

if it was like that and it is not, I would fix it for free that way it would get done cuz you really cant pay a therapist to fix them delusions I don't care how many degrees they got hanging on the wall either...  *Smiles*

thank you for this post. it infuriates me that some fans thinks she, or anyone with depression, is just playing victim because they see her happy at times and what you said has so much truth to it. everyday this fanbase continues to amaze me with how they view Gaga

I don't think OP is saying that she shouldn't talk about these things, she can of course. But she just goes on and on and on about what's wrong in the world. That whole "give the artist more power, record labels are so stupid...." thing in the AP era as well

because it IS important to talk about it...if she doesnt who will? people try to ignore what makes them look bad...

ARTPOP is not supposed to be a downer. its supposed to be liberating and truth telling. and the "give the artist more power" is not even related to this topic completely. I dont see how people would see that as depressing? thats just how the industry works

I understand that but she shouldn't feel the need to filter her emotions. She knows a lot of her fans care and people that can relate to her issues so she is going to talk about it. Of course she's going to continue to talk about her horrible sexual experiences because she's promoting TIHTY now. A lot of people tend to forget that aside from rape, Gaga also suffered drug usage, lost BOTH her grandfathers (people forgot that she lost her maternal grandfather in 2013), almost lost her dad in 2009 with the heart problems, has been betrayed by many people in the industry, i'm sure her 7 year split with Luc wasn't easy either, plus she was being milked by her record label at one point. I'm not saying the OP is wrong for acknowledging Gaga's sad demeanor but he/she should understand the many struggles people with depression go through. Her meltdown in 2013 has made her vulnerable and I'm actually surprised her meltdown didn't reach 2007 Britney level but she's strong now and she doesn't need to mask her emotions. People should never feel the need to restrict their FREE will of expressing their feelings.

I have depression myself and have shared my story to many people in order to help myself and others. One of the reasons why I'm studying Psychology right and doing research on depression. I just want to see her happy again. She openly expressed herself during the ARTPOP era and C2C era and I think it's time to stop talking about 2012 and 2013.

She didn't do anything worth talking about since then. If only we had more details about what kind of role she will have in AHS....we could speculate about that I guess

you of all people should understand why she continues to be affected by it and why it is important to NEVER restrict your feelings and avoid self regulation if you are studying this field. your desire of her to stop talking about past experiences is just unreasonable and not anyones call but hers. we should all be happy and proud that she is sharing willingly and not crying about it anymore but discussing it maturely

No I totally understand what you mean. I agree in that I want to see her be happy again too but the truth is she's going to have bad days and be vocal about it. I have depression myself and sometimes I feel like a debbie downer when I constantly bring up my past when people ask me about my life but the past has made me stronger so sometimes I feel as if people should know why I've become strong and I think Gaga feels that way too because not everyone is caught up to date with her interviews and such. Again I hope I'm not coming across as attacking you, I understand what you mean and it came from a good heart, you just want to see Gaga happy
