Cuba has suffered a lot the last 100 years to get rid off the burden that is the US to join ever again. These people died for socialism, they won't just unite with the mecca of capitalism again.

well i can tell that most cubans were guided by Che and FIdel, they were viewing them as gods or something and the whole cuba socialist phase was disastrous and that comes from someone that was in a communist youth in the university. Capitalism is **** but today nothing else is functional...

Well, today they have one of the best health systems in the world (if not the best) as well as some of the lowest ratings of unemployment. Definitely not bad at all...

Have you ever spoken to Cuban refugees?

They don't have this positive opinion of Cuba at all.

Edit: I'm not refuting their health care quality and unemployment numbers, I'm just speaking of the experience of living there overall.
