Really? It's basically the same actually easier. You have a homescreen with icons and those icons have labels. You tap the icon and it takes you into the app. Apple makes it so hard to do such simple things like changing the volume of. Its ringtone or notifications or making the phone silent vs vibrate. What is so much easier about performing the actions you've described on your phone? Literally the iPhone ringtone volume is changed with the up/down sound buttons on the side when music is not being played. Controlling silent on/off is easily done again with a physical switch on the side of the phone. If you like, you can change the defaults of Silent mode and turn off vibrate if you prefer it never to be on in Silent mode.

Lastly, I do not hate the android operating system. I mainly dislike it's fragmented nature across all of the manufacturers that choose to have their own special version of it; every time a new version of android comes out, users of Samsung have to wait until they catch up and incorporate the new changes into their version. This keeps users from security updates and new features, while adding a TACKY and unusable spin on the OS which eventually does not even resemble Android. It becomes polluted with the manufacturer's own apps and suddenly there are multiple apps to play and store music in, different file browsers (?) like what the **** is that all about in terms of usability?

I get your point, but as an Android AND and iOS user I can tell you that the fragmentation is slowly becoming a side issue since the stock and the manufacturers' versions of Android are almost identical in terms of functionality and, even if the manufacturers' version of the OS is not updated immediately after the new version of Android is rolled out, users don't really notice since personalized versions of Android usually have a lot of features the stock version doesn't have. For the security problems, Google has imposed manufacturers to update monthly the OS to fix possible errors that can cause some viruses to attack the phone, so I don't see them as a main problem anymore.  By the way, it's a matter or preferences, because today the user experience of Android and iOS is very similar, it just depends on the user if he wants an "easier" but restrictive OS or a more "complex" and open one. I do agree that app duplicates are a bit confusing though, but with the newer models of smartphones the bloatware apps are starting to disappear.

Yeah I do actually like android and find it very usable, I have zero problems with its design. it's just the branded versions of it like I said that I think are awful
