ENlGMA 5,316
It's one of my fav songs. I love dancing and twerking to this song

Its a bit too intense for UK taste Imo if the sounds were a bit softer and more chilled and less robotic it would have hit potential. I like it but I haven't come across songs sounding similar to this in our charts for at least 3 years. I'm just being honest but personally I like it. I understand, just trying to get ideas of how it works in UK. Look how hard it is to find that right sound that is experimental enough to be fresh and yet conventional enough to not freak out dance club goers. I think a Zedd sound might be great for her, at least mixed in with her other producers. Do your own research.
Dominic 11,922
Stache will always be one of my favourite 'demo' songs but it sounds a little dated now. In fact a lot of his production sounds dated now. The hardest thing in this world is to live in it
Jesse Pinkman 4,660
I don't think it would've done well. I remember playing it for several of my friends and they didn't care for it. I don't think that people are here for Gaga doing EDM judging from how ARTPOP was received. It's science, bitch

The dance songs that have been popular here in the past couple of years have been a bit deeper sounding with bits of funk. Less electro sounding and high pitched more deeper sounds are dominating our charts now really. This was really popular last year too here. I reckon Fashion from ARTPOP would have been well received here from radio stations that could have been a big hit here i reckon.

Funnily enough I played it for my friends too and they loved it, couldn't stop singing it and they aren't even fans. However I agree, I don't think many are here for EDM anymore. I believe her jazz work was better received because it showcased her raw talent. I think people just want Gaga to deliver great pop music overall. For some reason, her attempt at EDM didn't stick. Well, a simple way to put it for the U.K. is there are three mainly popular dance genres - House, Garage and Drum and Bass. All three have a lot of different sub-genres and crossovers that are also popular. Zedd's general sound is more Electro / Dance and although his work does share some loose similarities with House, it isn't really the kind of thing you would hear in the serious dance scene. He's good at making pop/dance tracks and he could top the charts with a pop crossover but most of his sound is too electro and pop pushed to be taken seriously by the dance scene in the U.K.

Softer EDM EDM is still popular but its changed alot in the past 5 years. Now people like more tropical summery songs which are more relaxed to listen to rather than what was previously the thumping edm. 5 years ago the popular sound here was like telephone by gaga or hold it against me by Britney whereas now songs that sound like alejandro are becoming increasingly popular with smoother beats. And you still get high tempo dance tracks topping charts but they are more funk influenced and have more bass and are less tinny.

Sure, it's got some dance influences there but these songs can't really be classed as dance tracks. Stache, to me, is more of an attempt at making an actual Dance track over a pop one. They are all dance tracks that is what dance music have evolved into pop music is different to songs like turn the music louder and do it again and overdrive. Pop music is blank space and problem and stitches by Shawn Mendes etc. But those dance songs are also classed as pop because of how popular they are but they are still proper dance tracks. mariomania1234 11,368
I'm not sure, it's a little hard and brash but that chorus melody is life giving. Absolutely incredible for a song that she probably wrote over in a couple of hours.
