I chose Venus because I think out of the list it would've done well on the radio, but I would 100% have sent MANiCURE to radio if I were her. That song is everything that would've popped!

I listened to Venus so many times in the radio here in Mexico :3

I personally love Disco Heaven, and I wish it was more popular. There's something about the song that makes my mind wander to good memories. Not sure if it's radio friendly, but I would have no problem listening to it in my car.

I think is GP friendly, when someone listen to it, someone feels in love :emma: only my anime obsessed friends don't listen her music

SISTERV

I know alot of fans hate Donatella, but all my straight friends loved that song. It's stupidly cheesy but the drop and chorus is so catchy.

So....Donatella!

I choose Venus because I used it for a fashion show I did at my high school (very successful, I may add), and the song that got the most positive attention was Venus. Like a LOT of people loved that song. I was surprised.

Paper Gangsta? I feel like it would have been big in the earlier 2000's but not so much in 2009. I didn't know Starstruck sold so much. Was it in something?  DITD definitely. Speechless could have gotten the Dope placement but not worth a whole single cycle. ScheiBe is great but not radio friendly. But Madonna had some very radio friendly songs on Rebel heart that didn't do great so who knows? I was so disappointed about Heavy Metal Lover. it was obviously the next single but I think everyone got kind of burned out during You&I so even if it had replaced MTN, I don't think it would have done well. Sexxx Dreams could have gone either way but censorship wouldn't have done it any favors. I'm still pressed about the DWUW/Venus debacle. Venus might not have done well but the video would have been iconic. However, I think the ARTPOP era was doomed from the moment she had to re-conceptualize it.

So yeah, I think Starstruck had the most potential.

Damn you were in my.... dreams.

Doin' really trashy things.

When I lay in bed I hug myself and I thinka you

:laughga:

And I'm still pissed about Venus/DWUW as well. So pissed. It's not like Dance In The Dark or Heavy Metal Lover where they were just promised as singles and quickly dropped.

No. Oh no. Venus went as far as having Ruth Hogben on board to direct the music video, and Steven Klein was involved too, both of whom I was excited for her to work more with! And then she released these pics from Steven Klein which slayed me (I love how dark his work is):

before just being scrapped completely, for a song that at the time just rubbed me the wrong way (I didn't like DWUW until I'd heard the solo version and it made more sense and sounded less trashy)

AND to top it off, when they made the decision to go with DWUW, Gaga said that Venus was still going to get it's own video. And then **** hit the fan and it got scrapped completely in favour of GUY! I think she even said a snippet of the music video would be released, hinting that it was AL-READY, DONE. UUUUGH. :saladga:

Venus wouldve flopped.
Ive never met anyone that liked the song, ive literally only seen the love for it on here/by monsters.
Venus is a great song, but an absolutely awful choice for a single. I wish we got the video as for promo purposes.

Out of the list id say Starstruck & Sexxx Dreams.

Strange.. cuz many people who aren't even Gaga fans , loved Venus .. I even had it played at a club and I was surprised that people went nuts for it and the chorus is a total banger .. It could have been an iconic Gaga smash had it been released with a video .. Period !

I disagree :P Venus is one of my fave ARTPOP songs, but i just dont think it wouldve done well commercially tbh
I wouldve loved a video though :(

I think if we would have had Poker Face / Bad Romance being non singles , we would have said the same about them .. that's the awesomeness of Gaga .. Venus has a trademark Gaga chorus and it's unlike anything that was being played on the radio .. It would have smashed ..
